BOOK REVIEW- The Sheikh's Reluctant Bride

BOOK REVIEW- The Sheikh's Reluctant Bride-This desert rose has thorns... Dr. Michelle Granger isn't known to suffer fools. She was first in her class in med school, and she'd barely finished her rotations before she was on a plane to a clinic in war-torn Sanaar. The people there need her. If she's forced to appeal to the rude and arrogant Sheikh Amir al Abbas for protection, she'll just have to swallow her pride and ask for his help. When the handsome Sheikh flies into a rage after a petty misunderstanding, Michelle is willing to do whatever it takes to prove her devotion to her cause, even if that means risking her own neck.  ...but that won't keep her from getting plucked. Billionaire Sheikh Amir al Abbas is accustomed to getting what he wants. When he saves an audacious woman doctor from a gruesome fate at the hands of a political rival, he expects her to pay him back with everything she has. Unfortunately for the Sheikh, the pretty American is ungrateful, unreasonable, and totally unforgettable. This alpha male is going to take what's his, and he's ready to defend his family honor with his life. AMAZON

Although I liked this story, the romance part of it seemed rushed.  She went in a matter of days to being head over heels in love (lust?) with a man she barely knows.  One who had treated her pretty arrogantly at their first meeting.  After awhile of reading, we do see moments of more tenderness being shown but I just wish their had been a bit more depth between the two of the MC's.  There was plenty of depth when it came to their more intimate interactions.  And I guess we do get a glimpse into Amir's personality/character.  It comes in a clue from a statement from one of the young servant girl's named Amsah.    There is plenty of depth in the trouble  that Michelle gets into when it comes to her time in the country.  While I did find it an enjoyable read, I guess I did have to suspend some belief.  When it Michelle  went from  a tough, top-notch doctor to being a somewhat weaker personality.  I just had to chalk it up to her being placed in some scary, intimidating situations. placing her somewhat out of her depth.

got a free copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion.
