eBook Review: From Russia with Love

A Russian widow, Tatiana and her 3 year old daughter, Irina are steps away from disaster in Russia.  Crushing poverty and hopelessness drive Tatiana to do just about anything to save her young daughter. Even consider being a mail-order bride to a strange country, America.   She even got to meet her potential husband to be.  Too bad everything isn't as it seems.

I really, really liked this book.  The story line was definitely different, and the people engaging.  It was sweet and well written I thought.  Of course some people might not understand the challenge that Gabe faced.  Gabe is a Christian who believes the Bible about not marrying people who are not followers of Jesus Christ.  He's finding himself falling in love with Tatiana and her daughter is touching his heart too.  Tatiana isn't interested in his God, who in her eyes has taken just about everyone she has loved and left her on her all on her own.
Some people might think the ending is predictable; but I don't care.  Loved it anyway!

Procrastination is not the Thief of Time

Morning Musing GraphicProcrastination is a thief, but not the thief of time! It is a thief of self-esteem. Sometimes we cannot see what it is we are missing until we get rid of the things we have been procrastinating about. As long as we allow ourselves the opportunity for self-loathing we will never fill our voids. Why should we, we are not worthy; when we beat ourselves up on a daily basis for the little things in life; we can't even think about our purpose for living! We have brainwashed
ourselves into believing that this is all there is, so why want more passion or joy!

It was only after I got rid of my clutter and found my routines that my purpose for living was revealed to me. Open up your hearts by taking care of the things you have been putting off till later. Later is a lie that never happens unless you set your mind to clearing out your mind clutter! That is all procrastination really is!

Are you ready to FLY with anti-procrastination being the stepping stones out of your rut?

Book Review: Unseen

Author Jack Graham writes from the background of a man and his family who had a love for God and the Bible.  Which made it even harder to understand when a savage, violent attack took his father's life. How could this happen to a family who loved and lived so for God?  It brought to light many questions; it didn't cause him to no longer love God but it definitely caused him to see there was more to life than what his Baptist church had taught him.  He began to see that there is a real war that we are engaged in whether we want it or not.  This book is interactive as well, because at the end of each chapter are questions designed to cause you to see how each one can be applied to you personally.
I found the book to be a good, basic, entrance into the truth of there's more to life than what you can see.  The supernatural is real but not how the world presents it.
I also liked several of the quotes at the top of the pages; one of my favorites was by
Saint Francis de Sales:
"Make yourself familiar with the angels and behold them frequently in spirit; for, without being seen they are present with you."  (please note, nothing was said about worshiping them.
I also liked the authors presentation of the Mission of Angels; it was given in a more modern way of understanding without changing its truth from the scriptures.

The list of things that deplete the soul; that distract us,  was interesting and I think most of us really know what some of those things are.
The Soul Expanders he mentioned, was even more enlightening:
1. Start & end each day with earnest pursuit from Matthew 22:37
2. Worship with a group of believers consistently; doing whatever you need to do to gather to sing, read the scriptures, pray "firsthand- live and in person.
3. Muster the energy & courage to initiate deep conversations with people you meet.  Push past the superficial.
4. Absorb people's faith stores as often as you can
5. Read God's word slowly, intentionally and daily.

I received a free copy of this Non-Fiction book from Bethany House Publishers (A Division of Baker Publishing Group as part of their book review program, and I am under no obligation to write a positive review.

45 Lessons Life Taught Me (written by a 90 y.o.woman

Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio .

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short – enjoy it.

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.

9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.

10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.

15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don't worry, God never blinks.

16.. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

19.. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.

20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

24. The most important organ is the brain.

25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

27. Always choose life.

28. Forgive

29. What other people think of you is none of your business.

30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

33. Believe in miracles.

34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.

35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

36. Growing old beats the alternative of dying young.

37. Your children get only one childhood.

38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have, not what you need

42. The best is yet to come...

43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

44. Yield.

45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Be sure to pass this onto your children; they are growing up in the Entitlement Generation!

Sing your way to Deeper Sleep

To put a stop to snoring (and next-day fatigue)
try singing along to some of your favorite tunes for 20 minutes a day.
Regularly singing helps tone muscles in the throat's upper air-ways,
which enables you to increase your oxygen intake as you sleep.
The result?
You'll snore less within three months
and you will be jumping out of bed feeling totally refreshed!!

Puppy with Cleft Lip Shares Message of Love With Kids
A six-month-old puppy named Lentil is spreading smiles across the faces of kids with craniofacial abnormalities. That’s because Lentil himself suffers from similar issues.
According to CNN, Lentil was born in February with a cleft palate and a cleft lip that left him needing special care. The French Bulldog Rescue Network of Philadelphia offered to help, and Lindsay Condefer, who works with the group, became Lentil’s foster mom.  Go to link above to read more.

Garris Elkins: "You Are About To Experience a Name Change"

Garris Elkins: "You Are About To Experience a Name Change"

For the last few weeks the Lord has been speaking to me and saying that He is releasing new names for a new season.
As I waited and listened to the Lord, He began to share His heart for His Church.
A New Name for a New Season
"You are about to experience a name change. This will not be a change of your given name, but a name change in the Spirit. I am making this change so you will come into this new season fully defined for the work I am about to accomplish.
"You will also carry with you new names to pronounce upon those who feel lost in hopelessness and disillusionment. When you speak these new names new seasons will be released. Rise up and begin to speak these new names and watch what I am about to do.
"Some of you have allowed natural definitions to define and limit My work in your life. Make an exchange with Me. Give Me the old names attached to defeat and a dreamless life and I will give you new names filled with hope and the promise of a future.
"In this day, I am doing a name change among My people. As your receive these new names you will carry them into new territory.
"Rise up prophets and begin to prophesy new names to My people.
• Where fatalism has stolen a future prophesy the name, "Hopeful One."
• Where dreamers have stopped dreaming call them a "Dreamer of God."
• Where people feel disconnected call them the "Redeemed of the Lord."
• Where someone has been forsaken, declare the name, "Beloved."
"Just as My Word entered the void and formless mass at Creation, so will your words spoken in My name accomplish the same creative effect when released into those who hear these words. The unconnected elements in their lives will begin to form a new season when they assemble around My word.
"Begin to rejoice like new parents naming a child yet to be born. Prepare to believe and dream again. Begin to live in the expectation of greater things. I have given you a new name for a new season to do a new work."

Trusting change in a person - Jesse Duplantis

You don’t have to feel bad if you know someone else who has fallen into sin and you have a hard time trusting them.
That’s natural.

You’re waiting for their fruits to grow–

tangible evidence that the change is real.

You can love them, forgive them, pray for them and help them, but you don’t have to trust them until the fruit sprouts! That’s what you call “spiritualized common sense.”
The Word is practical! (Luke 3:8)

What Holy Spirit Enjoys- Graham Cooke

"The Holy Spirit will enjoy being there for you on your worst day; He will love to be there with you on your best day. When you are in grief, when your back is against a wall, when you feel like you have lost everything and you are in a pit, He will be in that same pit talking with you about how to climb out."

The FlyLady- Relearning How to Play

When our homes are cluttered and CHAOS reigns supreme, we don't have time to do the things that fulfill us! So that gets put on the back burner and the flame begins to die! That little flame is the passion that is inside of you! How sad that we have hidden our little light under a bushel basket all because we don't think we have time!

So what is your talent? I never knew what mine was until I got my home in order! I always knew I could do anything I set my mind to do, but I never knew my talent was in writing and motivating! It was only 4 months after I started my routines that I began writing! It even shocked me! At that time I was still caught up in my perfectionism and wanted it to be just perfect before I would let anyone see it. It is much more fun now! I write to my hearts content and give it to the world every day! It may have mistakes, but no one is perfect and I feel great about the message.

James Goll: Properly Interpreting Revelation - "Have You Learned YOUR Spiritual Alphabet?"

James Goll: Properly Interpreting Revelation - "Have You Learned YOUR Spiritual Alphabet?"

Excerpt:
What Language Do You Speak?
Before you can interpret your dreams and visions properly or intercede effectively from the posture of revelation, you must understand the language of that revelation.
DreamWhat language do you speak? Have you learned your spiritual alphabet? Your spiritual alphabet will be unique to you. God will speak revelation to you according to the language you speak.
Doctors, nurses, and other medical and health professionals have a language all their own, a technical vocabulary that untrained lay people cannot understand. Music has a written language that is incomprehensible to anyone who has never been taught to read the symbols. Pastors have their own language, too. This can cause problems when their language does not match that of their congregations!
What language do you speak? Whatever your language is, the Holy Spirit will speak to you in that language. Of course, I am not talking so much about languages like English, French, German, Russian, or Spanish, as I am the "language" with which we interpret life. Because each of us have different life experiences, the language by which we receive and impart revelation will be distinct to each of us. We each have a personal walk and, in a sense, a personal talk. Our spiritual alphabet, though similar, is unique to each individual.
Regardless of how our individual spiritual alphabets differ, our basic approach to interpretation should be the same. Proper interpretation can occur on many different levels. Here are three simple steps for interpreting your dream revelation:
1. Study the interpretation of words and symbols by researching their meanings as recorded in Scripture and other historical literature. Find out how Biblical characters and other figures from the past interpreted these words and symbols in a dream context. This is an excellent (and probably the easiest) way to begin.
2. Develop the habit of journaling. Effective interpretation is a skill that is learned over time and with experience. Your spiritual alphabet is unique to you. Journaling will help you capture your distinct pictures, grant understanding over time, and give wisdom for your journey.
3. Welcome the anointing, gifting, and presence of the Holy Spirit. He will guide you into truth, keeping things safe yet adventurous and pure yet unreligious.

In your eagerness to reach step three, don't bypass steps one and two. Always begin with the Scriptures. Let the Bible be its own best commentary. God will never contradict His Word. Let His written Word give you insight into the meaning of His visionary revelation. Study it thoroughly. Pray over it. Lay a solid foundation of the Word in your life to give the Holy Spirit something to breathe upon.
DreamInterpreting dreams is like putting together a giant jigsaw puzzle with thousands of tiny pieces that must be fitted together in exactly the right order. The quickest way to complete a jigsaw puzzle is to start with the border—the framework—and the same is true with dream interpretation.
Once you have the framework in place it becomes easier to see where the rest of the pieces go. Before long, the big picture begins to take shape. At least, that's the way it usually works for me. I ask the Holy Spirit to give me a thought or a word. He sheds His light on one thing, which leads me to another, and another, and then everything just starts to click.
Interpretations Belong to God
The cardinal rule to keep in mind when properly interpreting dreams and visions is that "interpretations belong to God." He who gives you the Spirit of Revelation is also the One who gives you the capacity to interpret that revelation.

I want to be a Keeper of The Presence

I love this:
"I want to be a keeper of the Presence, a
presence driven person. It's Gods presence that refreshes, cools us when we're in the fire, leads us to safety through the floods, and drops down like the dew of morning. God has Angels of His Presence. Today I feel hassled by so many tasks to be accomplished. I am declaring His Presence is going before me, leading me with grace through the morass of life's necessary responsibilities. Let Judah arise and speak to the mountains of necessary duties. I will yet praise Him." Apostle Pastor Barbara Yoder

Book Review: King

King, Books of the Infinite Series #3 -
        By: R.J. Larson
First there was the book," Prophet".  The there was, "Judge".  Now Book #3 "King."
As it introduces the story line of Akabe,  a man chosen by The Infinite to be King of Siphra; it also re-unites old friends Ela, The Prophet and Kien Lantech, the hero of Judge.  It not only takes them through new adventures it also brings a conclusion to many of their stories.  King Akabe's challenge comes when he desires to rebuild the Infinite's Holy House in Siphra.  The only problem is he's not getting any direction from The Infinite, so he rushes ahead with his own plans.  The land he needs is held by the Thaenfall family, Atea-worshipers, who will only sell the land if he marries into their line.  He knows full well that they hate him fiercely,  both him and his God.  He marries  Caitria Thaenfall, and the land is released to him.   But this path he has chosen is not going to be an easy one; not for him or his new bride or any of his friends.  There's just too many people eager to kill them all!

I really liked this book and stayed up late to finish reading it because I was so close to the ending.  Well written, interesting people as usual, scary creatures, powerful imagery and I would say some pretty good fight scenes.  I really liked the fact that The Infinite had mercy, and more mercy but there came a point where he showed his power through his prophet when they refused to listen.  We saw time after time where He saved his followers and not always as they thought he might.  I think one of the reasons I liked it as well is that  theme of Overcoming in the end.  I'm a sucker for that and I'm not ashamed to say so.

I received a FREE copy of this Bethany House book through Baker Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review.

BOOK REVIEW: Frame 232

Sheila Baker, discovers that her mother held a secret for many years; something so fearful that it  affected her daily life and the fear that came with it actually stole much of her life. She was the  ‘Babushka Lady’- that people had talked and wondered about.  At the reading of her mother's will Sheila discovers that the information now passes to her.  Its a secret of national importance; something that will bring insight into who killed John F. Kennedy.  Caught on film is also proof that there was more than one shooter.  Through a series of events, Sheila finds an unlikely ally in billionaire Jason Hammond.  There are forces out there that don't want the truth to come out...no matter what it takes or how many people have to die.  Run Sheila and Jason, they have you in their sights; and a lot of people have a lot to lose if this truth gets out.

This was a really interesting work of fiction; it kept me interested all the way through.  There were some really good conspiracy theories at work and the people in the stories, I really enjoyed.  This is probably one of the few stories like this I have read, but I am glad that I did. it looks like more stories about Jason Hammond and his adventures are being written, I'm looking forward to it.

Frame 232 with Wil Mara Video- 3:00 minutes long.

I've added a quick Question and Answer Session from the author; check below:
Q & A with Wil Mara,  author of Frame 232:
What inspired you to write a novel around the assassination of President John F.
Kennedy?
I have always been fascinated by the assassination, which, obviously, was one of the most pivotal and enigmatic events in American history. And when I heard about the ‘Babushka Lady’---one of the few people in Dealey Plaza that day who remains unidentified---and the possibility that she may have filmed the shooting, an idea came to mind that seemed too good to disregard.

How much research did you do for this project?
An unbelievable amount. I spoke with assassination experts, read literally hundreds and books and
articles, pored over countless photos...you name it. My goal was to write a fictional story around the established facts rather than alter the facts to serve the story. Thus, I had to know pretty much
everything. I ended up loading my brain with more data than I really needed...but I didn't mind.

What would you like to say to Christian retailers to help them promote Frame 232?
I have tried like mad to strike an ideal balance between solid, suspenseful storytelling and the delivery of worthwhile Christian messages without being over-the-top preachy. All the books in the series, while undeniable in their Christian content, are suitable for the mainstream market as well and thus should find a broad audience. It is also important to note that they were designed not just in regard to what they offer, but what they don’t offer---readers will not have to deal with inappropriate language, gratuitous sexual content, brazen violence, or any of the similar nonsense that characterizes so many other forms of contemporary storytelling. The subject matter might be somewhat advanced in places, but it can be safely absorbed and enjoyed by people from all walks of life.

A Passion to prove God is Good!

"True disciples have a passion to prove what is good. They are devoted to goodness because they see it as the only lifestyle that can truly represent the nature of God. For Christ's sake, we must abound in goodness and be filled up with it and be giving it away at every opportunity."

BOOK REVIEW: ANOMALY

Imagine the world you know now totally destroyed by a nuclear war.  There are survivors thanks to scientists called The Ten.   Being the geniuses that they are, they have hit on the solution to what they think will make for The Perfect world.  Answers to make sure that no one ever experiences war, and destruction that they had lived through.  Of course that means that they need to erase all emotions, all love, all feelings, in the people they now make.  They will ruthlessly annihilate anyone, who doesn't meet their cold, efficient standards.  Too bad Thalli  is what they fear the most, an anomaly.  She's done everything she can to hide it but she won't be able to for very much longer.  Her childhood friend Berk is a scientist that is being groomed by The Ten, he remembers Thalli, fondly. There is also talk about their being someone more powerful than The Ten. The Designer is his name and it seems that Thalli being an anomaly is part of his plan.

Intense, gripping; hard to put down book.  5 Star rating from me; with no hesitation.  Its like a world filled with generations of Mr. Spock.  Pure logic, no emotions or questions allowed, with each person having their  specific area of expertise.  Thalli's just so happens to be Music.   There are several movies that come to mind with a similar theme, too bad I can't think of the names of them.   But its not really that important; this writing was  truly attention holding.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255

New Identity formed from difficulties- Graham Cooke

“Your current difficulties will define a new place of identity for you. God is calling you up to a high place in His loving kindness and favor. Be sheltered by His grace over you. Be protected in His love. Be cloaked in His power. Stand above the enemy and rise up above the difficulty!”
