BOOK REVIEW: The Secrets of Biblical Wisdom

The Secrets of Biblical Wisdom: Unleashing the Power of Heavenly Insight in Your Life

Revelation, Understanding and Practical Application is the heart of this book on Biblical Wisdom.  His personal experiences and some of his failures are shared by the author along with scripture, prayer, and decrees.  He also gives things to think on, exercises and tips at the end of each chapter to put wisdom into your life on a daily basis.

Kyle Searcy has written an easy to read and understand book; one that stirs up the desire to reach out for the wisdom of God either for the first time or like in my  case once again!  Its something that I had studied some in the past and had a passion for but let it slip.  His book was NOT boring in any way which I know it could have been.  Several things that I found interesting (just to wet your appetite) was his encouragement to embrace wisdom as a leading grace in our lives.  Another was his explanation of the meaning of the word "wisdom" and that wisdom is the insight into the true nature of things.   I'm giving this book 5 Stars- I enjoyed it that much !!!

I received  this book FREE  from Chosen Books for an honest review.

Recently made Baby Afghan

Crocheted Apricot Afghan with a White Border.
Its folded over so more of the detail can be seen.
It has that white border on all 4 sides.

Close up of the Blanket Stitch used. A really easy stitch to make.
Its much prettier than the pictures show.

I'm also adding a picture of the stitch in white; I think it shows up clearer:

Remember Who You Are...: You are Loved and Carry the Authority of JesusRemember Who You Are...: You are Loved and Carry the Authority of Jesus by Ken Winton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

For some, the information in this book will be brand New! For others of us who have been blessed enough to have been taught some of this; its an enlargement on what we've learned. It has a question and answer session at the end of each chapter which would be good for personal growth or in a small study group. A "Where are you at and how did you get there? " check-up.
The areas that I found especially helpful were the fact that we need God's grace to carry out his commands, getting the mind of Jesus about our being the Bride of Christ. The chapter on Spiritual Abuse was very good. Just as a side note: I have also seen the abuse in the reverse where the congregation has spiritually abused their pastors and church leaders too. I know for this book that wasn't a part of it but that's okay because the author was talking about a different area of spiritual abuse.
This was something I also put in my notes as I read (Yes, sometimes I take notes):
"Many Christians assume that the kingdom of God will only flow through religious leaders and those that look real shiny on the outside. But, Jesus described what a kingdom person looks like and what they desire. Jesus said that the kingdom of God and its power would move through people who are broken, mourning, and hungering and thirsting for righteousness."

e-Book Review: Remember Who You Are

Remember Who You Are...

This is a Refocus Yourself book, with interesting Chapters like:
 The True Nature of God
Is there Spiritual Abuse?
Humanity's Deepest Issue
God Believes in You
God Says You Have All Authority

Some of this will be brand new to some and for others its a refresher course with study question and answers at the end of each chapter.  This would be good for independent growth and also for a study group.  A "Where are you at?" check-up!
