BOOK REVIEW:MORE THAN THE MONEY

22425768
Rory Morrissey has the opportunity of a lifetime being offered to him.  He spent many years away from family;  years working hard in Texas and is now returning to New Zealand.  There's  a really large estate working for the taking but there is also another unbreakable condition.  The controlling owner, has thrown in the condition of marrying his grandaughter, Alfrieda as part of the deal.  In order to win, he has to have Alfie on board.  She's shy, but she's also tired of being so unmercifully controlled and all she wants is her freedom.  Rory might be drop dead gorgeous and charming but its not going to be as easy as he first thought.  Sparks are about to fly.

Spicy; yes, some of the story is definitely spicy.  To be honest as I read the story I began to see that it could also have been called "The Seduction of Alfie".  I enjoyed the fact that although he wanted the farm, he began to realize he was intrigued by Alfie.  He began to want to know who she really was as she began to be more free of her grandfather's cruel presence.  He began to seduce her with kindness, and specific possibilites of freedom if she were to marry him. He was relentless in his pursuit constantly reminding her how good marriage could be between them. He often told her they could build something, make it work if they just tried.  He also wasn't shy about her becoming more used to him and also the physical attraction that he introduced her deeper into.   Alfie fought him especially hard at first because she was terrified, but she also didn't want her calculating grandfather to win either.  She still thinks Rory will say or do anything to get the farm, that he really doesn't want her.   Like I say, boy do the sparks every fly.

BOOK REVIEW: GIVE ME SHELTER

Give Me Shelter
Inspectors Eli Miller and Inspector Rebecca 'Bex' Mulcahy have worked together as partners for Witness Protection, for some time now.   He knows what its like to have "loved and lost" but Bex is so toughened she's not even sure love is even real.  They are about to have an encounter with a new witness that will shake everything up.  A lot...like in nothing is ever really be the same again! The new witness, Violet, has the same kind of inpact on AR, a junior inspector in the unit.  And why not? Violet is larger than life in every way.

I liked this story but would definitely place it under the headline of "AN Adult Read".  Its sensual, appealing but for those who need to know, there will be sex.  Probably should have guessed that from the cover, right?  In the beginning it reminded me a little of the T.V. series "In Plain Sight" one of my favorite series in days gone by. That reminder is probably only because of the WITSEC setting and the snippy personality of Bex.   I enjoyed the interactions between Eli and Bex, those were some interesting times.  Eli really understood Bex.  She even commented on the fact that he took such good care of her, she wasn't used to that from anyone else.  Ever. She was one tough cookie and you could clearly see some of the similarities between her and Violet.  Eli was a romantic and manage to hide that from others, for awhile. I have to admit when I started reading the first few pages; I thought "Did I get the right book?"  If you wonder as well, it's okay, keep reading.   His flashbacks of his first love just so fitted into the story and things that were to come.   Just wait until you find out the how and why of Violet being in the Witness Protection program, that comes later in the book.  I found the timing just right on that.

One comment I almost hesitate to mention and probably no one even noticed.  I just wish that the author hadn't used the word "hummed" quite so much.  It's just a personal observation; I'm thinking in a few places another word might have worked better.

Ben Peters: 'The Divine Strategy of Preemption'

Ben Peters: 'The Divine Strategy of Preemption'

A Revelatory Nugget
The enemy of our souls is always plotting strategy to take us out and steal, kill and destroy. But our God has superior "intelligence" or spying ability, and He has a wonderful habit of doing a preemptive strike before the enemy can do what he wants to do. It's like our opponent is about to score the winning touchdown, when God makes the big interception and takes the ball the other way. We need to be encouraged that although everything looks as dark as it could possibly be, God has a plan to thwart the destructive plan against His people.
I believe God is speaking prophetically to His Church, to Israel, America and other nations, which are facing impossible scenarios such as the ISIS crisis, Ebola, moral and financial collapse, and many other attacks of the enemy. He is about to make a preemptive strike to turn His enemy's plans for victory into a stunning defeat. I will be more specific at the end of this article.
While writing my most recent book, called HOLY HOW, on the subjects of Holiness, The Sabbath, Communion and Baptism, I had a nugget of truth dropped into my spirit that still thrills me as much today as it did then. It was a revelatory nugget that will change forever the way I understand communion. May this stir your soul as it did mine.
I had already been teaching some rather radical insights on Communion for some time. But what really blessed me immensely and gave me a new appreciation for God's brilliant redemptive plan had to do with the way that Jesus thwarted his enemy's destructive plan by using a strategy of preemption. We have totally missed this truth, because we have also missed a very important foundational truth about the wonderful experience we know asCommunion.
The Forgotten Foundational Truth
Quiver Flaming Arrows by Linda Harris-IorioIn a nutshell, the truth we have failed to see in the story of the Last Supper, is the fact that what Jesus was saying, as quoted in I Corinthians 10 and 11 about His Body, had a direct connection to what Paul talked about in I Corinthians 12 about Christ's Body. It still blows my mind that I had never seen this till a few years ago, and although I grew up in the Church, I had never heard it preached or taught. (Photo via Wikipedia
What I'm saying is this: In I Corinthians 10:16-17, Paul says that we are one Body and one bread, when referring to communion. He is clearly saying that we together share or have a part in His Body and when we are together, we are also one loaf, with the potential of nourishing others. Please read with an open mind:
"The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion (or sharing) of the Blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion (or sharing) of the Body of Christ? For we, though many, are one bread and one Body; for we all partake of that one bread." I Corinthians 10:16-17
This passage is usually never read or quoted in our communion services, because the next chapter, I Corinthians 11, goes into much greater detail about the Last Supper and the importance of reverence when taking it. However, the terminology used by Paul in chapter 10 is virtually the same terminology he uses again in Chapter 12. But we've been so hung up over the centuries about whether "is" really means "is" that we've missed the truly obvious. So what is chapter 12 all about?
I Corinthians 12 begins with the discussion about how the Holy Spirit has divided up the spiritual gifts among the members of the Body of Christ. Then the heart of the chapter deals with the subject of how important every member of Christ's Body is and how each one has a function – obviously referring to the spiritual gifts which give us our unique function in the Body of Christ. In this chapter, the word "Body" is used 18 times in just 16 verses.
When Jesus declared, "This is My body, which is broken for you," He was not talking about how much His body would suffer, although it did suffer terribly. The word here in the Greek is "klah-o," which means to break or divide up bread to give each person a portion. What He was saying then was that He was dividing up the functions and ministries which He had performed in His physical body, among His twelve disciples, so that they could become His Body and do the work that He had done in His Body up until that point.
This is a very brief summary of the teaching, but I want to move on quickly to the fresher nugget which so blessed me as I was writing my book. Here it is:
God's Preemptive Strategy
Satan was not happy that Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit and "went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38). This despicable and angry fallen angel saw how much damage had been done to his own evil kingdom by Jesus Christ, in one human body. He developed a strategy to remove the influence and impact of the "Son of Man" by killing His body and shedding His Blood. (Photo via Wikimedia
I like to ask the question, "Why did Jesus need a body, and why do we need a body when we already have a soul and spirit?" I love the answer I received in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. A young man spoke up and said, "So we can do stuff."
"Exactly, right on!" I replied. Jesus had a body so He could do stuff – like making clay from spit and dirt and healing the blind man; like lifting poor, sinking Peter out of the raging Sea of Galilee; like writing in the sand when the religious leaders brought Him the guilty woman; like overturning the tables of the money changers in the temple. Yes, Jesus used His body to touch, to speak, to heal, deliver and raise the dead. He used that body to do every good deed He ever did and satan knew it.
Satan thought if he could get rid of that body, he could begin to recover some lost territory. And thus, the strategy was laid out. Satan would get one disciple to betray Jesus. Another would deny Jesus and the rest would forsake Him. Religious Jewish rulers would accuse Him, and the Romans would crucify Him. It all seemed to be working as planned. He would soon put an end to this unacceptable interruption of His continuous success in making people religious without relationship, guilty without forgiveness, sick without a healer, and tormented without a deliverer.
But the Christ who would die on the Cross, with full knowledge of the enemy's schemes, knew exactly what to do that very night in which He was betrayed. This is what was really happening that night in the Upper Room.
Yes, Jesus would give His body to the Jews and the Romans to kill, but in that Upper Room, He would pull a fast one on His enemy. When Jesus broke the bread and divided it up among His disciples, He was saying, "This is My Body, which is divided up among you." In other words, "All that I accomplished through My physical, human body is now being deposited in you, so you can do all the things that I did in My body, if you work together in the same way that all the members of the Body work together."
Quiver Flaming Arrows by Linda Harris-IorioLet's say it again a little differently. Jesus had a joy set before Him that enabled Him to keep His focus on His disciples and others. The joy was in knowing He was defeating the enemy, who thought he was winning the war. Jesus knew that when the enemy came to kill His Body, which had given him so much trouble, it would be too late. He had already given His Body away in the Upper Room. (Photo via Pixabay)
Instead of one body performing miracles, satan would now have 12, then 120, then thousands to deal with. It reminds me of the road runner always outsmarting the coyote. No matter what scheme the coyote tried, it would always blow up in his face because of the preemptive action of the road runner.
Jesus also knew that His Blood would be shed that night, and His life was in the Blood. Without taking time to prove my point from various Scriptures, I am convinced that the Blood clearly represents the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The Blood gets the vital oxygen from the air or breath or wind, which in the Greek is all "Pneuma," which also means "spirit." That breath of life is carried to every member of the Body by the flow of the Blood.
Thus, when Jesus said, "This is My Blood which is shed for you for the remission of sins," He was saying that they would also have a flow of His Spirit flowing through them to activate the ministries and gifts that were given to them, when He broke the bread and gave them each a piece. In John 20:22, after His resurrection, Jesus came to them and breathed upon them the New Covenant breath of Life. He was breathing life into their spirits and preparing them to receive the same power that worked in His life through being baptized in the Holy Spirit.

A Few Illustrations
My favorite modern illustration of a Preemptive God, is the Six Day War in Israel in 1967. The Arab and Muslim world had Israel in their sights. Israel was a tiny nation. It still is, but it was even smaller before that incredible war. I'm not sure how badly they were outnumbered, but let's just say it was by "Biblical Proportions." It certainly looked like they were doomed to annihilation, but God was watching over them and giving them His strategy to turn defeat into glorious victory.
The key to Israel's success was superior "intelligence." They knew what the enemy had planned. That's why they did a "Preemptive Strike," and with the advantage of surprise, in just six days, they had pushed back their enemies on all sides and captured both military equipment and the lands known as Gaza, the West Bank and the Golan Heights.
A favorite Bible illustration is the story of Elisha and how he would receive his secret "intelligence" from the Lord about where the enemy was going to attack. This enabled the King of Israel to preemptively move his own army in such a way that he could thwart the plans of the king of Syria.
Another recent illustration was our own personal journey, moving from one home location to another. As traveling ministries, living totally by faith, that faith often gets tested. We were getting ready for an expensive move across the country with our 11-year-old diesel motor home, pulling a U-Haul trailer. We would not be having any meetings for income that whole week, and when we arrived in California, we would be spending some time and money with family rather than doing meetings. The big event we were going for was the birth of our 12th grandchild. (Photo via flickr)
God, knowing what would happen and what our needs would be, set us up for special appointments, meetings and unexpected gifts. Before we headed west, we were given more than enough for both the trip and some down time with the family after our arrival. Even some unexpected expenses on the journey were covered by God's preemptive activity.
Prophetic Application and Word of the Lord
I am feeling an anointing to prophesy to both nations and to individuals. In the past you have suffered many things at the hands of ungodly enemies. It seems like God wasn't there for you and you were left hurt and seemingly abandoned, like the man in the "Good Samaritan" story.
But although people and governments let you down, God was watching over you and protecting you from even greater suffering. He found and sent someone willing to help you when you had almost lost hope. Just as Jesus had to suffer, we also will be called at times to suffer with Him.
But listen to the word I'm hearing from the Lord, "I will shorten the enemy's reach to smite you and to steal from you. I will see his plans and reveal them to those who bend their ears towards the sound of My voice. I will share My secrets with you and give you wisdom to strike preemptively in My name and with My power.
"The enemy will see his plans to destroy you turned into his defeat and a greater blessing and victory for you. Even as the small nation of Israel was blessed with more than they had before the Six Day War, so shall I bless you with unexpected rewards when you stand and face the enemy with My wisdom and knowledge."
Quiver Flaming Arrows by Linda Harris-IorioAnd the Lord says to America"I have given the enemy opportunity to do many things against My people in this land, which made a covenant with Me centuries ago. I have allowed him to do things never done before, so that My sleeping Bride would awaken, rise up, shake off her slumber, take up her sword and use My gifts and the power of My love to revive the life of this nation.(Photo via incandvoice.com)
"Yes, the enemy has very evil and destructive plans. Plans that would end America as you know it. But I also have made My plans. My plans are to defeat and expose his plans and to grant you favor in My sight again. There is coming a better day for My people in this land. There will be many tears shed in the coming days and years. Tears of repentance and tears of joy. America's time to lead the nations by example has not come to an end. She will revive and once again breathe deeply the breath of life and will again strengthen and help those that are weak."
It's not time to lose hope. It's time to rise up and be the Body of Christ – in unity and in His power. When we celebrate communion, let's thank Jesus not only for our salvation, but also for the gifts and ministries and the power of His Holy Spirit living in us and empowering our anointings. It's not about us, it's about the "stuff" He wants to get done, and He has made us His Body to get it done.

BOOK REVIEW*-CHILD OF MINE

Authors David & Beverly Lewis co-written fiction novel about Jack Livingston raising his ophaned adopted niece, Natalie.  Added in is "Nattie's" Amish  nanny, Laura Mast who has loved and helped raise her since she was a baby.  Also add Kelly Maines, who has been searching for her stolen baby for eight years.  Get ready; all of these lives are about to collide and nothing will ever be the same again.

What a well written, multi-layered story!   I really enjoyed it and about the time I thought things were beginning to be easy to guess what would happen next, "wham, a new twist, a new surprise revelation showed up."  I like that, it was so well written that you didn't find it to hard to follow the different people and stories that began to unfold.  That takes talent, skill and warmth.   I had looked at other books that were written by Beverly Lewis but this is the first book I have read by her.  I guess I was afraid it would be "too Amish".  Wrong!   It was just right and a delight; I'm glad that this couple worked together on this work.

I received a free copy of this novel from Bethany House Publishers as part of their book review program through Baker Publishing Group, and I am under no obligation to write a positive review.

BOOK REVIEW: The Tiger Queens: The Women of Genghis Khan

The Tiger Queens: The Women of Genghis Khan
A Mongolian Epic story of the women behind and aside the family of Temujin, who would become,  Ghengis Khan.

Borte- one of his main wives, who sacrificed  much for him, their family (both by birth and by adoption) and their people.

Their daughter, the fierce warrior woman,  Alaqai,

 Fatima, an elegant Persian captive

Sorkhokhtani, a demure widow

Intense.  Skillfully Woven.   Intricate. Strong Women.  Powerful  Dark with many wars.

These are just some of the words that I would use to try to describe this book.
I really like the fact that the author did her homework by drawing facts from historical information and weaving it into these stories.
This is not a book that I normally might have considered, but between the cover, title and description I was drawn to read it.  The fact that it was written about women who were strong and persevering against great odds, was a definite plus for me.  It didn't disappoint.  It did take me awhile to read it; this isn't a book that you can read in a day or two.  It just kept drawing me back once I started.
Some people might not like it because of all the wars and betrayals deaths and sometimes outright murder.  But I see the women who fought together to not only survive but to thrive and help fufill a dynasty.  They had high visions and paid high prices.  But I enjoyed the loyalty and love of these women that was shown time and time again.  Especially between  some of these women towards each other.

I received a ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Joy, we need it. Smile!

In the midst of a tragedy, it may seem callous to smile at anything.

Yet, as people we need joy to survive.

We need hope.

 We need smiles.

We need joy to give us strength to face the days ahead.

Most of all we need Jesus.

To get relief in tragic times, we’ve got to put our faith in His work.

We’ve got to heed His call to, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,

and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).”

When you get that rest, your face will show it –

and that will effect everyone around you.

Your face displays the condition of your heart.

BOOK REVIEW: Scandal with a Prince

In this story, two young people who became lovers one summer, see each other again after 10 years.  There is a whole lot that has happened during that time to both of them.  But its a time that neither has forgotten.  Prince Stefano remembers her and the freedom of that summer love, and Megan remembers too, especially when she looks into their daughter's face.  Can anything more come from them meeting once again or will their differences pull them apart again?

The people in the story were well written, with all the flaws and strengths that go with being human. Even the Prince's mother and father, who were duty to the royal line above all else, were well written.  Prince Stefano and Megan were so busy trying to be fair to each other that they produced misunderstanding after misunderstanding as they tried to re-connect fully.  I liked that Megan had worked hard and done so well for herself professionally and raised her daughter well.  She had strong family support (as much as was possible) and was also independent in her own way.  Anna, their daughter was fun to read about too. Another thing that was nice to read was the growth that Stefano and Megan both had to go through, not only ten years ago but now also.

BOOK REVIEW: I GOT YOUR BACK, HAILEY

Hailey is on the run, hiding, keeping a low profile, trusting no one.  She has reason to.  Too bad she went on a jogging run and fell over a bag of money.  She takes it with her; she thought she had problems before!  They just amphed up!   To top it off, the cute guy she met earlier; turns up right after she picks up the bag...so where does he fit in?  Is he more trouble or something more?

This book is a Keeper for me; I absolutely loved it!  Probably a good review title might be "A Good Whirlwind Ride".  Hailey had such a  fiery temper (she was a cusser when in full temper mode); and she liked to bicker, which made for some hilarious situations  Add to that her slightly klutsy abilities; like falling over the bag of money, for one example.  This book was Action, Action, Action; and I fell in love with all of the secondary people in the story as well. I happened to glance down at my kindle and saw I was only at 25% and thought, "wow, really, so much has happened I thought I was further into the book."  It had just really kept me riveted to the book.  Its not just all adventure action; there is more than one romance going on. There is lots of humor in the story.  And the interactions between Parker/Gavin and Hailey was something else!   It really kept me going trying to figure out if Parker/Gavin was the good guy or not and what his motives were.    Who is he REALLY?
I really liked the writing style of the author and there were plenty of twists and turns, which I personally like.  BUT, it all came together at the end; interconnected too, something that I know must not be that easy!

BOOK REVIEW: SEDUCED BY A SINNER

Everyone in Deadwood knows Lily and in a town this size they know most of her business too.  She runs the local merchantile and has a young daughter Gemma.  They just don't know who her father is.  Zach Anderserson is one handsome, charming man, who has been chasing Lily for some time now, trying to convince her to marry him.  She's not having it though, not willing to ever trust a man again.  If that wasn't enough. a dangerous killer has followed the Anderson family and their loved ones home.  The man who enjoys killing is now the Hunter as they also continue to hunt for him.

The story was enjoyable, with the other family members (Anderson's) also being a part; helping each other.  Lily's daughter Gemma, was really drawn to Zach; she could tell how much he loved her. There were several enemies at work; I thought there was only one (the serial killer) but it was a surprise to see several other ones come out and be dealt with.  I have to admit, there were a few times I thought I had it figured out what was going to happen next.  But, I was only right one time; the rest went into a different direction.  I'm trying so  hard not to give anything away, so that's all I'm going to say about that.
Although I found the courtship between Zach and Lily sweet;  it also felt like it was kind of missing something.  Don't ask me to explain more than that because I'm not sure I can put my finger on it.
I always like it when the author puts an epilogue in their books when its needed, and this author did.
Nice work on the cover picture of the eBook.

THE SILENT TREATMENT IS MORE THAN YOU THOUGHT

Did you know the silent treatment

(which is the stubborn refusal to talk to someone,

especially after a recent argument or disagreement) is a form of witchcraft?

Witchcraft is sometimes a spiritual force,

but it's also a work of the flesh listed in Galatians.

Intimidation is a form of fleshly witchcraft.

Purposely ignoring people to "teach them a lesson"

can be a form of fleshly witchcraft.

Manipulation tactics, like pouting

and crying to get people to do what you want

or make them feel guilty, are forms of fleshly witchcraft.

 I can tell you this,

folks won't get far with Spirit-led Christians playing those sorts of flesh-driven

games.

We'll pray for you but we won't bow to manipulation.

BOOK REVIEW: A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court: A Medieval Time Travel Romance (Twisted Time Book 1)

This is the story of a VERY, VERY Modern woman, who as the title suggests is at the very top of everything modern and in fashion.  In fact her job is the very reason that she is at a medieval  fair.  Because she certainly wouldn't be doing this by her own choice.  Imagine the shock and horror when she "falls" back in time.  To the same era that she was just making fun of.
I did like this story, I like time travel stories.  In the beginning of the story the herione is a spoiled, snarky, ever fashion conscious, kind of selfish person. She is also kind of whiney on more than one occasion.   Doesn't sound all that likeable does she?  I have to admit there were more than a few times that her attitude began to annoy me.  BUT, even when she was being snobby in her thoughts, it was some pretty interesting conversations with herself.    The King's court were in no way ready for someone like Kat, her adventures turned not only her world but theirs upside down most of the time.   I found myself laughing out loud more than once with some of her antics.  I found myself liking her more and more. The upside is that we got to see Kat grow and care about someone else other than herself.   She sure came up with some pretty creative ideas to try to help herself and others.

P.S.  I LOVE the cover photo for the ebook.

BOOK REVIEW:WISDOM OF THE SADHU

This about Sadu Singh, an Holy Man from India. He is a Holy Man who became alive with Jesus.  The first part of the book is about events in his life seen from him and those who knew him.  The second part is taken from interviews and parts of his books and articles.   He didn't conform to the usual western evangalists clothing (and style) to spread the gospel; knowing that his people would receive better from someone of their own culture.

Some of the very first impressions that I got as I began to read this book was that this man became spiritually hungry at a very young age.  Both his mother and father loved and nutured him well. His mother taught him much when it came to spiritual discipllines; rituals.   When it came to his spiritual hunger as he began to observe well respected holy men, strive to work to find God, he found their actions were wasted and they remained unenighltened.  He wasn't satisfied and continued in his quest. At fifteen he rebelled; his mother was dead, he began hating going to the missionary school and he was confused and he could find no peace.  Their was a prophecy over him that he wasn't like the  others and that he would either become a great man of God or he would disgrace his people by going insane.   He has an intense experience after crying out for truth.. He beings to follow Yesu, the one whom the Chrisitians followed...and then his journey truly does begin.

I really liked this book, the style that it was written in and the perspective that is given.  Humble, simple, thought provoking.  Coming from a different country, a different culture, a different thought process was interesting to walk through.  Sometimes as Americans I guess we think our way is the only way, even when it comes to Evangalism sad to say.  It was good to see that he wasn't intimidated into that.   What also struck me was the words (paraphrased) that he was a itinerate   barefoot preacher whose heart burned with love, for Jesus and he just HAD to share it.

My Questions on this were:

How about those times that you seemingly wake up for

no reason several different times in the night?

Its not worry, so could it be something else?

Could it be that you are being called to pray

during those times?

You Know What Will Ruin My Kids?

You Know What Will Ruin My Kids?

I will not let the Should Mama ruin my kids (3)

It’s definitely after midnight when I hear her crying. again.
This isn’t one of those times she’ll just drift off back to sleep.  It’s the third (fourth?) time she’s awoken crying.  I’ve been up and down all night – just falling asleep only to be awoken again.
She’s got to be sick…I don’t feel a fever…what’s going ON!?
I sit by her bed, exhausted, foggy, trying to get her back to sleep, trying to figure out if she’s had a nightmare or if she’s about to puke in my hair.  Perhaps she’s getting a cold….?
I’m so tired.  I’m pleading, “Please,  Z, Mama is tired and she wants to go to bed.  Can you go back to sleep now?  Please?”
And then The Guilt starts (It’s 1am, do you know where your guilt is?)
You know, says the voice in my head...
You should stop telling her about how tired you are – it’s teaching her to put others needs ahead of her own.....  READ THE REST AT LINK ABOVE

Just a quick clue...after reading all the accusations about being a bad parent,
Its time to realize:
YOUR CHILD NEEDS ....YOU!!!!!

P=WHO ARE U IN THE STORM WITH?

Jesus Christ is KING/Facebook

The only thing I would add to this is..

Yes weather the storm, knowing that Jesus has his arm around us IN the storm.

Of course that is for those of us who KNOW Jesus!

eBook Review: Children of Dreams

BOOK REVIEW:OUT OF THE STORM

There is a shipwreck off the small island, the one with a lighthouse. Isabelle Thornton and her father man that lighthouse; its lonely and they have secrets.   Out of the storm comes a survivor and he needs a lot of help to recover.  Just his being there is going to shake up the status quo and no one will truly ever be the same again. Not even the man who came out of the storm.

I found this story to be charming just like Henry was doing his best to be charming as he spent time on the Island. He came out of the storm (good idea for the title) shipwrecked; a survivor. It was a easy read and I read it pretty quickly. Part of the reason was I was so curious about the secret that surrounded Isabelle. And also the mystery and danger that surrounded the reason for the ship sinking. I don't want to say too much so that future readers can let the story unfold in its own way. Personally, that's how I like to read a story.  It is a charming, quick read which I enjoyed.

I received this ebook Free from Bethany House for an honest review.

POWER PRAYER 2014

6-6-14

Father God break the chains of evil over our family. Forgive us of allowing the devil excess to our love. We plead our cause to you Jesus. That we would stop name calling and allow you to fix every wrong. That we would forgive one another our sins and pray for one another to heal from those sins. That your love would cover them one by one. That the words of our mouths would be acceptable in your sight. That our spirits would become stronger than our pain. That our words would become softer than our blame. Heavenly Father God of Grace we come boldly to your throne room of Grace to receive freedom for our family . Amen
