WORD STUDIES- Hebrew aleph-bet

The Hebraic Roots Teaching Institute on Facebook
Also found out that:
There is a direct connection between numbers and the 22 letters in the Hebrew aleph-bet. Putting different number combinations together can actually spell words and even individual numbers when correlated to the letter they represent unwrap meaning. Each Hebrew letter is in itself a picture or story.

Three Hearts on DVD- by Samaritan's Purse. Inspiring!

This is a story that starts with Cissie Graham Lynch as she takes on a internship with the Children's Heart Project.  Cissie is the granddaughter of Billy Graham and daughter of Franklin Graham for those who might wonder who she is.  The DVD is done in a documentary type manner and you begin to see the hours of preparation and the huge number of people who are involved in this journey to save three lives.  You are presented with the truth that for these three this is their only hope!  And there is no guarantee that they will live through surgery. You are able to go into the homes of those in the middle of nowhere; Mongolia and follow them and their mothers all the way through to surgery in San Antonio and hopefully full recovery.

I have heard of Samaritan's Purse and some of the work that they do but this is the first that I had heard of the Children's Heart Project.  Just watching this DVD showed what a LABOR of love is involved in just THESE 3 stories.  It was heart breaking to hear of so many that are still waiting.  When I say LABOR- its to say there is a huge amount of work; with a large network of people involved but its pure love seen expressed.  To also watch the host families take them in and love them and help them through what would have to be the hardest time, far from everyone and everything they know; inspiring!  Love in action; caring about every area of their life; not leaving out the spiritual truth of Jesus.  I enjoyed seeing what I did of Mongolia as well; remote but beautiful .  The only reservation I would have in who is watching this; they get into the medical operation part a bit more than I was comfortable with but then I'm squeamishness with that kind of stuff.

Goodreads: Conquering the Game of Control by Craig Green- A Study Book

Conquering the Game of Control by Craig GreenA well written STUDY about control that it is in all human nature whether you are sitting in a church or not. But of course he makes the case that this something that should not be happening or flourishing in our churches.

The author talks about 3 different types of control that we can use in differing levels. Intimidation, manipulation, domination.
Craig Green shows that a second problem comes with the manifestation of control; controlling others is ultimately an unwinnable game, causing endless strife, pain, and division. No one wins all the time.
This is why he used the example of rock, paper, scissors throughout his study.
The answer? True victory only comes when the game-playing is surrendered and the motivation of the heart becomes, like Jesus, to serve in humble submission.

Definitely a book written for Study and use as a course.

Conquering the Game of Control
A well written study about what is in all human nature whether you are sitting in a church or not. But of course he makes the case that this something that should not be happening or  flourishing in our churches.

The author talks about 3 different types of control that we can use in differing levels.
Intimidation, manipulation, domination.

The author goes on to explain that Satan desired to gain control over God’s highest creation—humanity and the realm of  humanity’s dominion, the earth.  Craig Green shows that a second problem comes with the manifestation of control; controlling others is ultimately an unwinnable game, causing endless strife, pain, and division. No one wins all the time.
This is why he used the example of rock, paper, scissors throughout his study.
The answer?  True victory only comes when the game-playing is surrendered and the motivation
of the heart becomes, like Jesus, to serve in humble submission.

At the end of the book is an overview  of the The Rock/Paper/Scissors (RPS) Curriculum  that was developed to help identify and address the control-game-playing tendencies
found in all human beings and to discover in Jesus the way to live life essentially free from the game.

Joshua 11:15 in Part- My new favorite scripture

Now, I realize that most times it is NOT a wise thing to chop up scripture; and only read a part of it.
But as I was reading Perry Stone's book, '' How to Interpret Dreams and Visions", this just jumped up at me & is stirring my spirit.    "He left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded..." Joshua 11:15 in Part

We're talking about this was accomplished by a Old  Testament man...how much better is our covenant?  How sweet that it could be said of us..  put your name in that...______left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded  her/him.

Here is the full scripture; can't leave without showing that as well:

Joshua 11:15

Amplified Bible (AMP)
15As the Lord had commanded Moses His servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.  Biblegateway

Called to Controversy by Ruth Rosen- Fascinating Read

Called to Controversy

Called to ControversyThe Unlikely Story of Moishe Rosen and the Founding of Jews for Jesus

By Ruth Rosen

The daughter of Moishe Rosen is the author of this story of her father  and his journey that begins from childhood  as a person raised up in a Jewish culture filled with rules and regulations but no real understanding of the "why's" of these traditionsThe author says right at the beginning that of course she has a bias with this being a story of her father but that she would give as fair a presentation as possible.  As you read, you watch the  progression of his life where he develops cynicism towards religion; and then that pivotal moment where he comes face to face with the presentation of the truth of Jewish Jesus.  Then all of the challenges that come with that radical choice. Of course as the title suggests we get to read about the birth of this new ministry," Jews for Jesus".   Personal pictures included in the book were an added plus.

I enjoyed this book SO much.  Not only was it well written but the style just kept the reader interested. The author did give what I believe was a very fair picture of her father and his relationship with others.   I don't always read a biographical book  but I am glad this is one that was on the list to choose.  Who would I recommend this book too?  Anyone, everyone who enjoys reading  about people overcoming difficulties.  I do believe we can learn much from reading people's autobiographies or biographies from those very close to them.  Learning from those who have gone before us. We CAN learn from their failures as well as their successes.

Hawkeye, still a powerful image & Story!

Hawkeye lays by the casket of his owner, Navy SEAL Jon Tumilson. (Lisa Pembleton)

Loyal dog refuses to leave soldier's casket

This story still has the power to bring me to tears every time I see it.

Need Lotion on your back? No one there to do it for You?

As you can see, just take a bath brush; and apply thicker lotion  to it.
When finished rubbing it on your back or other hard to reach areas, rinse & hang the brush to dry.  I bought one at  Dollar Store;  for this use only.  Then I took a long extra shoelace I had & threaded it in the end to hang it in the shower.
Now I have someone who would help me with the lotion but he's not always there to do it.
It is a little messy but not too bad because the lotion is thicker.  I think its a small price to pay to wipe
any droplets off the floor...or you could apply it standing  IN the shower & just rinse out.
It was worth it to me.  Itchy skin on my back or a small clean- up?  Hmm...I know which one I've chosen.
P.S. I "thunked" this up all on my own.  That phrase "Necessity being the mother of Invention."
You know it.

Today's Proverb ! Proverbs 13

The Last few days I started doing this:

Each new day I go to the Proverbs that matches that Number of the Day.
I read it but I ALSO watch to see what part of it that Holy Spirit is bringing my attention to.  I Fully expect Him to be Illuminating; highlighting verses.  I know that each time I read it; He will be teaching me by pulling up different verses each time I re-do this system/style of going through the Proverbs.
I know some people read through the Proverbs & Psalms at the same time; but I'm going to narrow my focus on this to just Proverbs so that I can pull as much out of it as possible.!

Jesus Daily

Proverbs 13

Amplified Bible (AMP)
1A WISE son heeds [and is the fruit of] his father's instruction and correction, but a scoffer listens not to rebuke.    2A good man eats good from the fruit of his mouth, but the desire of the treacherous is for violence.
3He who guards his mouth keeps his life, but he who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.
4The appetite of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, but the appetite of the diligent is abundantly supplied.
5A [consistently] righteous man hates lying and deceit, but a wicked man is loathsome [his very breath spreads pollution] and he comes [surely] to shame.
6Righteousness (rightness and justice in every area and relation) guards him who is upright in the way, but wickedness plunges into sin and overthrows the sinner.
7One man considers himself rich, yet has nothing [to keep permanently]; another man considers himself poor, yet has great [and indestructible] riches.
8A rich man can buy his way out of threatened death by paying a ransom, but the poor man does not even have to listen to threats [from the envious].
9The light of the [uncompromisingly] righteous [is within him--it grows brighter and] rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked [furnishes only a derived, temporary light and] shall be put out shortly.
10By pride and insolence comes only contention, but with the well-advised is skillful and godly Wisdom.
11Wealth [not earned but] won in haste or unjustly or from the production of things for vain or detrimental use [such riches] will dwindle away, but he who gathers little by little will increase [his riches].
12Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.
13Whoever despises the word and counsel [of God] brings destruction upon himself, but he who [reverently] fears and respects the commandment [of God] is rewarded.
14The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life, that one may avoid the snares of death.
15Good understanding wins favor, but the way of the transgressor is hard [like the barren, dry soil or the impassable swamp].
16Every prudent man deals with knowledge, but a [self-confident] fool exposes and flaunts his folly.
17A wicked messenger falls into evil, but a faithful ambassador brings healing.
18Poverty and shame come to him who refuses instruction and correction, but he who heeds reproof is honored.
19Satisfied desire is sweet to a person; therefore it is hateful and exceedingly offensive to [self-confident] fools to give up evil [upon which they have set their hearts].
20He who walks [as a companion] with wise men is wise, but he who associates with [self-confident] fools is [a fool himself and] shall smart for it.
21Evil pursues sinners, but the consistently upright and in right standing with God is recompensed with good.
22A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children's children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.
23Much food is in the tilled land of the poor, but there are those who are destroyed because of injustice.
24He who spares his rod [of discipline] hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines diligently and punishes him early.
25The [uncompromisingly] righteous eats to his own satisfaction, but the stomach of the wicked is in want.
