BOOK REVIEW- DEVIL AND THE DEEP

A COVERT MISSION
Maddy Powers's life revolves around cocktail parties, political fundraisers, and charity events - but she can't forget the daring former SEAL who appropriated her father's yacht a few months ago ... or the scorching kiss they shared before he disappeared into the deep blue sea.
SPARKS A FLAMING DESIRE- Bran Pallidino carries a dark secret behind his lady-killer eyes - one that keeps him from pursuing a serious relationship with Maddy. But when she's taken hostage during a trip to the Dry Tortugas, the men of Deep Six Salvage drop their treasure hunt for a sunken galleon and embark on a dangerous mission to save Maddy.
As they fight her merciless kidnappers, they discover this isn't a simple hostage situation, but something far more sinister. Passion boils between Bran and Maddy, but what good is putting their hearts on the line if they don't survive the dawn?  AMAZON

Have to admit that I have mixed feelings on this one.
What I liked:
Bran- a good guy who is afraid he's not.  He's afraid of his father's violent DNA

Maddy- loyal, loving, brave woman who does things afraid.
Bran described her as "A Texican tornado in a teacup".

Mason- One of Bran's closest friends and co-former Seal.  A man of few words. Where one is in a battle the other isn't far behind.
Alex- the non-stop talking, non-stop eating Chatty Cathy who just manages to worm her way into the team's life.  But she does have skills that can help the Salvage Company that she is getting fonder of by the minute. She just never seemed to fit anywhere, until she met up with this group of Deep Six Salvage.  Her life motto would be, "In for a penny, in for a pound."

The tension between Mason and Alex was a good sideline too.  I'd like to see where that goes.
The reasons/plot against Maddy was a good one, with a good amount of action as they try to outrun the attacks of their enemies.  And as they tried to figure out the who, how or why of these attacks.

What I wasn't as crazy about?
Some of the conversations between Maddy and Bran were down-right cheesy.  Not all of them thank God, but a bit more than I would have liked.
I guess over all that's not too bad when it comes to reviewing this book.
By the way, there will be some sex later on in the book.
Oh and the other thing that I did like? The cover for this ebook.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
