Brilliant designer Miko Jin is a hopeless romantic. She’s spent most of her life falling in love over and over again…with the men she finds in the pages of her favorite novels.
When Miko meets Liam Ashton, it’s love at first sight. At least, for her. Sure, the two of them are polar opposites, and yes, he seems to be dating someone new each week. But Miko knows what true love is and that you can’t rush it—after all, what she lacks in real-world experience, she makes up for in book smarts. With novels as her guide, and her best friends by her side, she knows she can get Liam to love her back. But just like any good romance novel, fate has a few plot twists in store. Will Miko get her own happy ending? Will she find the strength to stand up for what she deserves even if it means breaking her own heart? AMAZON 4 Stars
Quirky, emotional, being her own person with her own style that's part of who Miko is. She values family and friends and like it said in the book, she doesn't even know what a stranger really is. She warms up to people really quickly. Top that off with a really creative mind and that's quite the mix. Miko IS zany and I liked her. She even has stalkerish moments around Liam but you still can't help but like her anyway. Be prepared for books and book references; even if you don't understand them all there is plenty to the story that you will.
Her brother Kitoshi or Tosh as she often calls him is also an interesting person. He's successful, creative, driven but also close to his family. They have each others back but in a way that is not suffocating. The cast of friends that she has added so much to the story. The fact is that she had branched out into business with one her friends, Landon is another angle in the story, a good one.
Liam, Liam....you play everything so close to the vest, you are driving poor Miko over the edge. You are sending so many mixed messages to Miko she doesn't know what side is up. In fact I wasn't sure if he was playing her or if there was more. What did come across was how Viking handsome he was, successful in his own right and not someone into a one woman relationship. Which is really hurtful for Miko since she has loved him from the first moment she saw him.
This book made me smile so many times, as well as a few groans at some awkward moments as well. It was so funny that friends who were counseling her were telling her to be subtle in her approach to Liam. They seemed to forget who they were talking to and that's not even a word in her dictionary. Hey, even I knew that much! Honesty is usually her first response to most situations, that alone sets up some funny things.
