BOOK REVIEW- #5 A BITE TO REMEMBER

 #5
Rule #1: Never get involved with someone who won't be there for you when the sun comes up.Once bitten, twice shy, and sexy PI Jackie Morrisey wasn't going there again. Vincent Argeneau may be the hottest guy she's ever met, living or dead, but she's here to stop a killer from turning this vampire into dust, not to jump into bed with him. Rule #2: Never kiss a vampire . . . it can be a pain in the neck.Okay, so Vincent's had four hundred years to perfect his kissing skills, and he does look rather tempting when he runs around the house shirtless. He's also charming, protective . . . did we mention he can kiss? Jackie needs to be on her guard, or else she'll have to come up with a new rule: If you're going to fall in love with a vampire, make sure it's a bite to remember.  AMAZON 3 Stars

Although I liked both Vincent and Jackie, it seemed to be a little light on the romance part of the story.
The focus seemed to be more on the mysteries that surrounded them. Who was out to get Vincent and Why? Those questions will be answered and they come with a surprising twist. Jackie's partner in her business was named Tiny, which was a misnomer because he was a gentle giant. He added to the story as well, having known and worked with Jackie for some time. He had some unusual skills as well, like when he got nervous or anxious, he headed straight to the kitchen and did a great job.
The person who has been tormenting Vincent was well hidden with some interesting ways of not being identified. There are plenty of twists and red herrings which make it easier for the villain to remain hidden. The motive is a surprise as well.

Although I would have liked to rate it at a higher star, I just couldn't. I like the series but this one just wasn't quite as good as I would have liked. I will still keep reading the series though because most of them are pretty good and I like the "family".
