She wants a father and when she meets bartender Murphy O'Rourke at her fourth grade Career Day presentation, she knows she's met the man of her mother's dreams! But can she convince her Mrs. Scrooge of a mom that it was time to give Christmas -- and love -- a second chance? AMAZON Previously published by Harlequin Books
I picked up this book for free on the Amazon site and enjoyed it. At the time of this posting, it's still free if you are interested. Patty was a joy to read about. Not only was she a genius but she was also all little girl. Something that other people often forgot. She yearned for normal, what a lot of people took for granted and often didn't even value all that much. Her mother Sam, often not only recognized her enhanced IQ but also worried about her little girl, enjoying her childhood as well. Of course she also worries about how she can pay for her daughter to get the best when it comes to her getting the best education. She was working hard to be independently financially secure by starting her business, which is also a passion for her. All three MC's were a delight and this made for a sweet Christmas time story. Murphy just had so much going for him, even though at first Sam had some doubts about him. Sam's best friend Caroline was also a ''character'', who was there for Sam in every way possible. Even in some ways that Sam isn't all that excited about. The relationship between Patty and her Aunt Caroline was charming, especially when they plotted together. And O'Rourke's Bar? Now there is a place filled with a few characters. And the ending of this story will put a smile on your face.
