BOOK REVIEW- EVOLVING HEARTS

BOOK REVIEW- EVOLVING HEARTS-

Separated spouses... will her secret and his smokejumping ruin their second chance for love?Andy Jenkins is a hero. He's also a husband -- or at least he used to be. Now he regrets the breakup of his marriage every day. He loves his wife Amy and his sons, and he wants desperately to be with them, but he loves being a smokejumper too. He can't give it up to play it safe even to please his wife. Or can he? When Amy shows up to suggest a reunion for the sake of their sons, Andy is overjoyed and jumps back in with both feet. Amy Jenkins has a secret: she's battling a life-threatening illness, and doesn't know if she'll survive. She's desperately worried that between her disease and Andy's high-risk job, their sons will end up as orphans. When they reunite can she convince him to put family first, or will the same arguments that led their marriage into trouble before put their relationship on the rocks again? Andy finds that he loves Amy more than ever, and the sexual tension between them as they struggle between make-up or break-up is hotter than ever. Can he find a way to rescue their romance without giving up his calling to smokejump and save lives, or will their reconciliation lead to more regrets?

Evolving Hearts can be enjoyed as a standalone story, or as part of the Hero’s Heart series.  AMAZON 4 STARS

An emotional Story.  But a good one. The book blurb is right, it is a good stand alone story. I enjoyed this book, even with some of the more serious things that were being addressed.  Serious but not a depressing story. You get to see some of Amy's struggles, her fears, and even her extreme fatigue as she battles for her life.  Both of their boys, Tyler and Jamie were smile worthy.  Tyler was the older one who had plenty of anger in him, not only about his mom being sick but also the separation of his parents.  Jamie, who is the youngest is probably best described like the author did in a few sentences. He's "bouncy", full of energy and good natured most of the time.   Scared, that's probably another good word that applies to both of the boys since their lives are in a kind of upheaval.    Both of the adults are in a kind of denial until cancer forced them to face things.  Two years is a long time to be living their own lives apart.   There was also the smoke jumping "family" with a few of the people in that unit showing up to add their support to the Jenkins family.   They added warmth to the story.

There is also an Excerpt for the book,"Trust My Love" at the end of this book.   This is a book that I have already read and reviewed before this one.  It also was a good story, that I enjoyed.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
