eBook Review: Love by the Letter- Melissa Jagears
Dex Stanton is a hardworking man; who has worked hard since childhood. He also has had problems reading and writing since childhood too. Out of desperation, believing he needs a wife as he gets ready to head out West, he writes to a woman through a mail order bride company. She makes fun of him in a return letter because of his horrible spelling. He needs help and he needs it right now. So he turns to the smartest woman in town, the last person he wants to because not only is she smart but he finds her attractive too. What he doesn't know is that Rachel Oliver has been in love with him for years and has been waiting around for him to just notice her. Dex will have to humble himself to ask for her help and this might just be the hardest thing Rachel has ever had to do. Help Dex find a wife through this service; when she would give anything for it to be her.
This is the first novella I have read; because I have heard horror stories from other people about how so many they didn't like. But I was intrigued by the story line so I crossed my fingers and ordered it. I liked it and I found it enjoyable.
There was an unexpected bonus at the end , the "look" into the first novel by this writer (with more of Dex and Rachel in it) "A Bride for Keeps". After reading the first 3 Chapters, I can say I'm interested in reading that book when it becomes available in October.
