eBook Review: Heart of the Country
Faith & Luke Carraday. It all seemed like a Fairy Tale Come True. She was the Golden girl from the country with a Golden voice. At least that's what most people thought she was. She just seemed to draw people to her without even trying. Luke was born with a Silver Spoon in his mouth but he just didn't seem to fit into what his family wanted for him as much as they thought he should. He had a strong-willed father and brother who had his life all mapped out for him and Faith definitely wasn't a part of that plan. Its all about to hit the fan when it looks like Luke is part of a Ponzi scheme. And Faith runs home, to a home she hasn't been back to in many years.
I liked this book okay; but I did find it hard to follow at first. That's probably because it was divided into Chapters of Catherine, Faith, Luke, Olivia and at the end Calvin. It makes it hard to follow when you are just getting to know the people in a new story but it finally did begin to make sense after awhile. I'm not saying this is a favorite but it was enjoyable enough. There was a good background of people of faith, like Calvin (Faith & Olivia's father) and Catherine. Also people who lost their way in life and to God. In many ways its like the Prodigal Son and Daughter scenario with different people. Don't get the wrong idea though, there isn't a perfect person in the whole crew. Everyone in the story had to finally stop running.
