Book Review: The Cheyenne Bride (eBook)

An arranged marriage is what Nichole Michaels future seems to hold.
Her temporary guardians are in a hurry to marry her off and she wants no part of the
soldiers that they parade her before.

This is what is happening after the death/murder of her parents (by soldiers) that jerks her from her content life as White Deer.  Well, as content as it can be as what the world calls her, a half-breed.   Her heart has long been drawn to a Cheyenne warrior named,  One Wolf who has loved and protected her for years and yearns to make her HIS Cheyenne Bride.  Enter, Chris Davis who without his knowledge has letters sent on his behalf, to arrange a marriage.   After the murder of his parents, by Indians, his family needs help pronto, a woman's help definitely while they re-build the ranch.  White Deer's mother, had spoken her vision of the man that was for her; her destiny, year after year. When she meets Chris Davis, he fits the description to a "T". Too bad the rest of the prophecy said that his wild heart would be hard to tame.

I had mixed feelings about this book.  I liked the spunk of  Nichole/White Deer and the different history of each of the main men.    You could feel her love for both of these men, as she is torn between them.  The part I didn't like as well was the disrespect that Chris continued to pour on Nichole when he discovers she's part Indian.  He was drawn to her and that just made him even more ornery.  While I understand it was necessary for the story, after awhile it irritated me; so I guess the story-line worked. It got my emotions involved.  The thing is, his family accepted her and saw her worth long before he did.   I enjoyed the inner action of Chris's family members in the story and even how additional family members got added.
