What an emotional story this book turned out to be.  It was also charming as well at times.  It really was a story of two honorable people being torn between family and businesses.  That was well portrayed.
Emma really was thrown head first into the business.  Her sisters weren't really helping her all that much at first.  It was more a sink-or swim situation for her.   She did an amazing job of it considering all the pressure and newness of everything.  She went from being practically isolated to being pushed front and center.
Daniel was essentially a good man with an incredibly pushy, powerful mother.  One who favored a now dead son.  Not a healthy relationship at all.
Daniel's dogs were an added nice touch to the story.
I liked how the struggles were resolved and that Daniel and Emma do get their H.E.A.
