BOOK REVIEW- The Blackhearted Cowboy: An Enemies to Lovers Romance Book #2 by KC Klein

I went against God, family... this entire town for her.
Then she left without a word, without a goodbye.
Now she's back, and there's going to be hell to pay.

Nine years ago, Chandler Sloan was devastated by the betrayal of the only woman he’s ever loved. The night she turned her back on him was the night he became a man unwilling to forgive. Now Jayne’s back for her inheritance from his father’s estate, but all Chandler can see is red.

Jayne Keller is prepared for the painful memories that surface when she comes home. What she isn’t prepared for are the intense feelings that flare whenever she and Chandler are together. The more Chandler lashes out against her silence, the more Jayne is forced to confront the powerful passions that brew just beneath the surface.

But there's more to Jayne than meets the eye, and soon both will realize the only thing darker than Chandler's heart… is Jayne's secrets.   AMAZON 5 STARS

Well, I did it again.  I read a book series out of order.  I started out with book #3 The Lonesome Cowboy and I liked it.  However,  I think I loved this one even more and having read them out of order didn't really mess it up for me.
This book was INTENSE!   Chandler is SO buttoned up, angry and cold acting.  BUT, he didn't start out that way.  He had been in love with Jayne and when he loved her, it was with his whole heart! And he was crushed when she walked out on him.  So caught up in his own pain, that the questions that he needed to ask never came on his radar.   Oh, he wanted answers alright but he sure didn't work all that hard at getting them.
The way that Jayne and Chandler first met was out of the usual and they had quite the history.
I liked that.  But secrets  have stayed hidden for years now and they just keep giving; pain and more pain.  The emotions were all there and were written so powerfully.
The Sloan family was something else.  Mostly good but they are human and have their flaws.  Chandler and Tatum's relationship adds quite a bit of drama to the story. They might be twins but that doesn't mean that they always get a long. And their sister Dixie is a good addition but she shines even more in Book #3.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
