BOOK REVIEW- JUSTICE ASCENDING (Scorpius Syndrome Book 3) by Rebecca Zanetti

Justice Ascending (The Scorpius Syndrome) by [Zanetti, Rebecca]
Before surviving the Scorpius bacterium, Tace Justice was a good ole Texas cowboy who served his country and loved his mama. After Scorpius, the world became dark, dangerous, and deadly—and so did he. The Vanguard medic is stronger, faster, and smarter than before, but he’s lost the line between right and wrong. His passion is absolute, and when he focuses it on one woman, there’s no turning back for either of them…

Sami Steel has been fighting to survive right alongside Tace, convincing the Vanguard soldiers she’s one of them. In truth, Sami is a former hacker turned government agent who worked at The Bunker, where scientists stored both contaminants and cures. Only she knows the location, and she’s not telling. Yet when sexual fire explodes between her and Tace, she’ll face even that hell again to save him.
AMAZON 4.5 STARS

One thing I liked right off the bat was the short "quote" at the beginning of each chapter by Tace (and sometimes others).  But I really enjoyed Tace's best.  Of course, I also began to see some of Sami's and enjoyed those too.  They were both simple, direct and to the point. A lot like both of them in their personalities. I've been wanting to hear about their story for awhile.

Of course it's been pretty clear that Sami has some secrets hidden away.  And Tace with his new sharpened senses after his infection, has laser like instincts when it comes to when someone is telling a lie.  Even most of the rest of the crew feels something is off about her claims to have been a rookie for the police department.

Tace is hiding a secret of his own, a dangerous health issue that could get him killed and/or endanger others. At first he thought it was a temporary side effect of his infection but now he's not so sure.

I really enjoyed this whole book and the recurring people in it.  I don't usually like that many of the life after virus deaths disaster/dystopia kind of books.  Usually one in a series will do it for me but this one has such great characters, action, fighting for survival and trying to fight for a new civilization that it just kept drawing me in.

A lot of things were solved but not all; the adventures could continue.  And I think that there just might be some more people who SHOULD get their own stories, so I hope this series continues.  I will be looking to see if it does.

On a final note, things will heat up between the two main characters, so I'm letting you know there will be a lot of sex.  You've been warned.
