BOOK REVIEW- ACE OF HEARTS by Chantal Fernando

Erin Dawson had the perfect life growing up in a perfect home with a perfect family. Her parents gave her and her sister everything a child could want. But after learning that the man she’s called “dad” her whole life isn’t actually her biological father, Erin is determined to find the man who is.

Armed with her original birth certificate, she finds her father, but begins questioning if her mom had been right all along to keep this information buried. It turns out he is the president of a motorcycle club, which could not be further from the life Erin leads. But, she’s determined to get to know the man who she gets her striking blue eyes from. Despite getting what she wants and finding her biological father, it’s the slightly older, much rougher but incredibly sexy biker Ace that catches Erin’s eye.

As the new “princess” of the Cursed Ravens, Erin is learning a whole new world, but her father has made it clear she is off limits. Will Ace follow his President’s orders or will he put his heart ahead of his duty? A sizzling tale of family and passion, Ace of Hearts features Fernando’s signature “snark and sass” (Booklist) and is perfect for fans of Kristin Ashley.  AMAZON 4 STARS

I liked this book mainly I think because of the personalities of the main characters.  And there were also some interesting secondary people in the story as well.  Several of the bikers fit into that category.

Erin has just recently learned an earth-shattering secret and she's not just going to let it go.  That is not who she is and it also explains why she has always been kind of the black sheep of the family.  She was loved alright but always kind of felt like she didn't quite fit in.  Also it explains why she is the only blue eyed person in her family.  Her mother is kind of overprotective or at least she tries to be but Erin pretty much goes her own way.  She loves her mom but she's pretty angry about all the lies.   She does make a pretty gutsy move when she just shows up at the motorcycle club all by herself armed only with her determination. While it might not have been totally smart, you've got to give her credit for guts.

Ace is pretty much what I expected when it came to a biker guy; loyal to his club and his Prez.  But he was also pretty good to Erin most of the time.  Of course there were a lot of times he was macho with her too.  But he did seem to be a man of his word when he gave it.  I liked that about him. Through most of the book, you can't really figure out if he has real feelings for Erin or not. But the sparks of attraction between the two of them is definitely there.

Erin's dad has a lot to learn when it comes to the father daughter relationship.  And he messes up more than once but he does love her.  When he messes up, Erin is direct and lets him have it.  She is not one bit impressed with the fact that he is the president of the motorcycle club when she loses her temper with him.  Something she definitely got from him too. It leads to some interesting moments for sure.

There is a few surprises when it comes to jealousies that erupt and put a person in danger.  But there is a H.E.A. coming.   There will be sex and some language not suitable for children.  But heck, this isn't a story for children, now is it?.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and this is my honest opinion of it.
