**BOOK REVIEW- To Claim the Long-Lost Lover by Jude Knight

Book Details

The beauty known as the Winderfield Diamond hides a ruinous secret. Society’s newest viscount holds the key.

Sarah Winderfield has refused every suitor since Nathaniel Beauclair convinced her to run away with him seven years ago, and then disappeared without a word or a trace. But now she needs a husband. She has a child to love and to protect, and the child needs a father.

She does not expect to meet Nate also on the marriage mart. Should she let him explain? Can she believe him?

Dragged back to England to feed his father's pride in family, Nate refuses to give into the man's demands that he take a wife. Those who beat and abducted him seven years ago said the only woman he will ever love would be married within the month to a husband chosen by her father.

But when he finds that Sarah is still single, he rushes to London. Surely, they can find again the promise they believed in when they were young?

Through a labyrinth of old rumours and new enemies, two long-lost lovers must decide whether or not to claim one another, and win the bright future they both desire. AMAZON LINK

4 STARS

This a story full of emotions, and betrayals and discoveries. Not only did many have enemies but there is also people who are loyal family, friends and also other supporters.

Nate's father was some piece of work.  Wow, his arrogance hardly knows are boundary. Will he ever change?  Will they be able to overcome Nate's resentment towards his father?  Only time and the story will tell.
But Nate isn't that same 17 year old that he was when he was taken.  He's been to hell and back.  Nate has long since developed a backbone and finds it easier now to just say no.  At other times he uses wisdom by just listening and then going and doing what HE wants.
Sarah is a woman of honor who has been so manipulated and dis-honored. The men in the family who should have been her protectors ended up being the people who had dispensed the most pain.

Things are pretty good story-wise but it gets even better as it goes on.
I am happy with the way things ended for Nate and Sarah.  Just one enemy gets away for now.  I'm pretty sure that enemy will show up in another story, ready and willing to try to continue the villainy.

I received a free ARC of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
