BOOK REVIEW- Lucas (The Lawmen of Silver Creek Ranch #12) by Delores Fossen

A Texas Lawman will do anything to protect his son—even if it includes reuniting with the boy’s on-the-run mother…

Lucas Ryland always had a way with the ladies—until Hailey Darrow dropped him after a shared night of passion. Then he discovered her unconscious body in a wrecked car, with a fake ID and enough cash to disappear. Unbeknownst to him, the one who got away was leaving town with his baby…

Now Hailey is out of her coma and still in danger. But hiding her at his Silver Creek ranch ignites old passions…and introduces new dangers. Lucas must use every protective instinct in his arsenal to keep Hailey and their infant son safe. And keep his body from remembering how good it felt to hold her in his arms…AMAZON LINK

5 Stars

Lucas is one angry guy.  He's not about to trust Hailey and is all in when it comes to protecting his son.  He thinks she is a danger to her own son. He's going to have to push through a lot of emotions and some logic to get to the full truth.   He is a by the book lawman in a family of lawmen and thinks there's only one way to approach a problem.  His life is about to be turned upside down.  And even the lives of his family too.  They added to the story in good ways.

Hailey is also one really good main character too. She has so much time to make up for and so many memories to try to reconnect with.  Heck, she hasn't even seen or held the son that she gave birth to.  That really made for some emotional times for sure.

This book had an awesome mystery going on and the dangers just kept growing.  It made it even tougher to stay alive, with all of that.  The action is off the charts and keep the interest all the way through.

Great ending with all the "i's" dotted and the "t's" crossed.
