BOOK REVIEW- UNTIL WE TOUCH/ #15

BOOK REVIEW- UNTIL WE TOUCH-After a family tragedy, former football hero Jack McGarry keeps the world at arm's length--a challenge now that his PR firm has moved to neighborly Fool's Gold, California.Larissa Owens knows where she stands--Jack sees her as just another one of the guys. No matter what her heart wishes, Jack's her boss, not her boyfriend. But then Larissa's big secret is revealed...by her mother! When Jack discovers the truth about Larissa's feelings, her touch suddenly becomes tantalizing, and he's not sure he wants to resist. But if he gives in to desire, heartache is sure to follow. Friendship or true love--will Jack go for the ultimate play?  AMAZON  I gave it 5 STARS*****

I got to re-visit one of my favorite fictional towns- Fool's Gold!   And for a story I really wanted to hear.  And it sure didn't disappoint!!
"Paper" Jack, the one who wrote checks but didn't want to get personally involved.  That's why I'm calling him Paper Jack.  On paper, he looked good but he really wasn't there for the long haul.  Larissa was the exact opposite, she always lead with her heart.  And she knew Jack her friend.  She knew that he wanted the the most beautiful woman in the room..for fifteen minutes (of sex/relationship) and then he was done.   She ought to know, she had to help select enough exit gifts for those women.   I liked the banter between Jack and Larissa, they made me smile.  For example Larissa wanted to talk to Percy about protected sex and he finally said he would -right after he finished banging his head on the wall.  She said he always said that but she'd never seen him do it.His response?  Some things are done better in private.
See what I mean?  There is even more, good ones.  Not an overload but I enjoyed them.  For a guy who didn't want to be there for anyone, he put it best in his own words -that  he was a sucker for Larissa.  She needed help?  He was there to help with her "rescues"or to rescue her.
Larissa's mom, sure opened up a can of worms with her
"oh so not innocent "talk with Jack.   That started a run a way train in a direction once started was one that both tried to stop.  At first.
There is a painful, cruel twist towards the end when Jack lashes out but after you dry up your tears, keep reading.  Its worth it!
