BOOK REVIEW- HER SECRET PROTECTOR

BOOK REVIEW- HER SECRET PROTECTOR-Cherry Lake’s official photographer has a problem. The boudoir photos Carrie Logan used to do, long ago and far away, have come back to haunt her. So she turns to Ethan Nash, the mysteriously gorgeous guy with big dogs and a bad attitude, for help containing this secret and the scandal it will cause.
Ethan takes one look at the photo of young Carrie and his harsh cyber-security specialist exterior begins to melt. For some reason, he feels the need to help this beautiful photographer. He’s pretty sure she’s stuck– once something’s on the Internet, it’s there forever- but he offers her his assistance anyway. There's something about her he finds irresistible.. What Ethan doesn't realize is that he might need Carrie's help far more than she needs his... Will she prove to be the one he needs?   AMAZON  I gave this 4.5 Stars

When I read, "Her Secret Love" (which is about her cousin Jess), Carrie was mentioned too.  I did wonder what Carrie's story was going to be.
I think that I can say that this story is my favorite one so far in the Cherry Lake series.   Part of it I think is because of how controlled and carefully contained Carrie was.  And how there was so much of her personality and wildness (in a good way) there was to her.   She was so busy keeping her image of good girl,  lining up to the need to keep the family name pure, that she wasn't enjoying her life all that much.   The way that Carrie and Ethan met was interesting, as were some of their other conversations.  Some of which were funny and made me smile.
Ethan had his own brand of hurts and had been hiding out but now that he's had some time to heal, he's ready to really make Cherry Lake his own.  Yes, he's been there four years but their first impression of him doesn't not make him look friendly at all.  Its harder to break through than he thought. It was a fun moment when Carrie offered to be Ethan's Cherry Lake Ambassador, helping to spread goodwill in the community on his behalf.
I really like how he used his computer skills to try to help Carrie but also his training of his beloved dogs was part of the story too.  He really had done a lot of training with them and he had some serious skills there too.   Ethan had also gotten the opportunity to see a part of the real Carrie and what he saw was "a girl who'd been so free and wild and whole who kept giving and giving even when it got tossed back in her face."  What a great way to put it.  Not only did they have to work thorough her crisis but also his feeling that her hanging around him wouldn't do her reputation any good.  Even then he was looking out for her.  "Man Dumb", but sweet.

Just letting you know that this was a clean reading story too; no graphic sex.  In fact no sex at all.  Attraction?  Oh, yes.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
