BOOK REVIEW- THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY

BOOK REVIEW- THE SINCEREST FORM OF FLATTERY-  Former surgeon Jack Lansing has become a bestselling mystery writer. At a book-signing event he meets an old colleague who, unbeknownst to him, has carried a grudge against Jack for thirty years. Then murders start popping up in and around Jack's peaceful beach town - murders that mimic the plots in Jack's books and make him a suspect. He must convince the police and the FBI of his innocence while trying to solve the mystery himself. Because, he realizes, he and his wife could be the killer's final victims. It is a chilling tale of twists and turns, worthy of Jack's imagination, but this time he doesn't know how the story will end.
(This is a stand-alone sequel to another Jack Lansing novel, Get the Picture?, also available on Amazon.)   AMAZON Really liked it.

This story started out the gate with a BANG!  It's a story of murder and mystery with some definite adult elements as well.  So in other words, a story for 18 year old and plus people.

I really liked Jack Lansing.  I think the author did a good job of drawing the reader into being sympathetic to him and rooting for him.

You want twists and turns?  This book has it.  This is something that I personally really enjoy.  I don't like it when you have to practically be a genius in order to follow along.  Whew.   Not a problem here but enough of a challenge to want to keep reading to see how things get worked out.  The real villain of the piece was really savvy, not only that but often got some lucky breaks too.
Another thing that I noticed is that occasional name brands were added in the story.  Now maybe its been before and I just didn't notice before.  But in this story one example is where Jack is making sandwiches and he "took the lid off the Hellmann's and grabbed a butter knife."  Detailed, good job on the details.
The close relationship between Jack and his wife, Erica was a plus and ended up helping them when they really needed it.

I have to give it a Thumbs Up for the Smashing Ending.

I know it would mean going backwards in a way; but now I want to his other book, " Get The Picture".    I want to see how it all started, what it was like when they all met.  Yes, I know some of it was mentioned in this book, still its not the same as being in it.

received the book in return for an honest review.
