BOOK REVIEW-THE RECKLESS LOVE OF GOD

BOOK REVIEW-THE RECKLESS LOVE OF GOD-In The Reckless Love of God, pastor and church planter Alex Early pulls you in close to ask if you've ever really considered what it means to say "Jesus loves me." God's love for us is real--he feels, knows, and even suffers on our behalf. Nothing will change your life, your goals, and your relationships faster than being captivated by this reality.
Whether you grew up as a Christian and have forgotten this essential truth, or if you're hearing it for the first time, you need to be reminded--and assured--of the simple, amazing, mind-blowing fact that God loves us.  AMAZON

The author does bring up the main question that Christians bring up in their thoughts from time to time.  Its something that they often struggle with at some time or other.  It all boils down to the fact that we often need the reassurance that God loves us. But a really  great example of how we often interact with God is given in the Introduction.  Here it is (in part) : "We are content to stand across the room, trying desperately not to make eye contact with the God who "wants to dance".
We don't want to be vulnerable and open but we still long for Him.
Also mentioned by the author is that this is a book for those who have been crushed by legalism.  He mentions others that will be impacted by this book (Everyone)  but that one really stood out.
A really great question was asked.  " Does God Actually Feel Things?"  Now, I already had my thoughts on this.  And this is what that thought is:  that scripture says often that he does.   Several scriptures are used in the book to answer that question as well.  Another point is that Jesus is not just a prophet who leads people to God but that he also shows the exact nature of God.  I'm just going to point out a few other things mentioned in the book without hopefully giving too much away.  I don't want to give so much of the book away that it makes it feel like its not necessary to actually read the book.  I liked how it was explained how sometimes people will get in our personal space making us uncomfortable.  He called them "Close Talkers".  He feels that God is one of those close talkers, lovingly invading our space, so we can  be hearing and feeling his presence.   I agree and like the term he used.
Okay, my last example:  Jesus is not in love  with some future version of you or what you used to be. He loves you right where you are.  Now, that ought to settle a lot of issues right there (if we will just believe it)
I've been a Christian for awhile and a title I would give this review would be "Nuggets and Things to Remember".

I was given a copy of this book via Bethany House in exchange for an honest review.
