But a certain sexy Scotsman in Crimson Point has other ideas, and somehow manages to sneak past her defenses at every turn. As the hits keep coming and her life implodes, she begins to see he’s unlike any man she’s ever known. Now he’s become the greatest threat to her heart, because there’s no possible future for them. Not when he’s leaving the country in a few weeks. And when her worst fears are realized, she must risk everything by placing her trust in in his hands.
He’s determined to capture her heart.
Scotsman Aidan MacIntyre never saw the fiery, beautiful Tiana coming. The prickly redhead has gotten under his skin as badly as he wants to get under hers. But she’s determined to keep walls between them. Luckily the former Royal Marine doesn’t know how to give up. Someone from her past wants to hurt her, but Aidan will stand between her and any threat. He’ll stop at nothing to protect her and the little girl who have completely stolen his heart—and fight for them to have a future together. AMAZON 5 STARS
What a surprise this book turned out to be. I liked it so much that I just couldn't put it down. I ended up being able to read it in one sitting. That's how fast it pulled me in. As I was reading it at first I thought, "maybe I would give it 4 stars on Amazon." It sure didn't take long for me to change my mind and decide it deserved the full 5 stars instead. Part of the reasons is because of the super good main characters and all the emotions and action in the book.
Aidan saw Tiana as beautiful, wild and mysterious. He also thought, He liked the sarcastic edge to her responses. Sarcasm was a sign of high intelligence and a healthy mind. He knew he was sarcastic as hell. Now if he could only break through to her. His friends gave him the nickname, "Mac" and it didn't take long for Tiana's daughter Ella to do the same. The affection between the two was quick and solid. Mac definitely proves that he is hero material and a tenderness develops between him and "his girls".
Ella was one charming little girl who had gone through so much. And the dangers to her weren't quite over yet. I thought the author did a great job developing Ella's character, it had depth to it. Aunt Lizzie shows up in the book to visit with Tiana and Ella. She doesn't stay real long but you can see the good impact that she has and has had in their lives. There are also some good secondary people who surround our main characters and are there to support them with friendship and help.
Great unexpected twists happen in the book and include a very good Epilogue.
On another note, I did learn something as I read this book. It's about a celebration called, "Hogmanay" that is a Scottish tradition.
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
