BOOK REVIEW- The Princess Predicament (Royal Bodyguards Book 2) by Lisa Childs

Passion, peril and a princess in hiding

Forced into hiding after a threat to her life, Princess Gabriella St. Pierre must protect both herself and her unborn child. Working at an orphanage, the princess tries to suppress memories of a passionate night long ago with Whit Howell—her father's royal bodyguard and a man she never thought she'd see again.

When an attempted abduction occurs as Princess Gabriella is leaving the orphanage, Whit rescues her and vows to keep her safe. But how can he shepherd the princess back to her country without knowing who is orchestrating these attacks…and why? It is the most important mission of his life—and he'd risk everything to save the one woman he can't live without.  AMAZON

This was a good, fast story with plenty of danger and action.
Gabriella's father has had quite a few serious secrets that he's hidden but they are about to be blown wide open.  And when she finds out about them, it's going to rock her world.  It's also going to explain a lot of things to her as well.  Her life has been so controlled by her father but that grinds to a halt when he pulls some shady moves with her future.  She's been attracted to Whit for some time and they  had their one moment.  And you can see where that got her.
Whit was a good main character as well but it seemed like more attention was spent on Gabby. Although to be fair, we did find out why Whit always seemed to appear cold and controlled.  We do see him showing up to try to rescue Gabby more than once.  But is it really all about his job?  That is Gabby's main question as well.
Two other people play important parts in the story as well.  Charlotte Green and Whit's former friend, Aaron.  They were both in Book #1    Which I have not read but now I wished I had.  I still think that I will go back and read it. It doesn't feel like it's essential to read it before this one but it did sound interesting too.
