BOOK REVIEW- Daddy Defender (Omega Sector: Under Siege Book 1) by Janie Crouch

 Omega Sector: Under Siege

He was a man on a mission, one that included a beautiful woman and a little girl he’d die defending…

What a serious case of mistaken identity. Ashton Fitzgerald is no unassuming handyman but a highly trained sharpshooter intent on protecting Summer Worrall and her baby daughter. The Omega SWAT member has a debt to pay and he isn’t about to let Summer out of his sights.

For someone else has set their own sights on the lovely widow. Her unexpected relationship with Ashton has put Summer and her child straight into a madman’s line of fire. Suddenly a mission to make amends becomes Ashton’s quest to defend this little family with his very life.

Love that cover!!! It was also something that expressed Ashton's tenderness with Summer's daughter Chloe.
Both Summer and Ashton made for good main characters.  I liked them both and life has not been easy for either of them.  One of Summer's joys is her daughter though.  It was also kind of funny the misunderstanding that Summer had about thinking Ashton was just the maintenance man.
It also made me smile when this big alpha guy who was so skilled on his job became so shy with Summer.  He could barely talk to her when he was around her.  He even stuttered some of the time.  Of course, he was also keeping a lot of information under his hat so that contributed to the awkwardness too.  But he was almost afraid to hope for a relationship with her because of his past.  But he did want her but just didn't know how or if he could get included in her life.
Summer just knew that she was attracted to him and was touched by how he interacted with Chloe. The interactions between Summer and Ashton was fun to watch as they began as friends.  She even at one time thought she might have to  make some first moves to see if he was attracted to her too.
The Omega Team was quite the tight knit family on the job and off.  There was plenty of danger, action and adventure in the story.  The team hasn't realized it fully at first that they are battling THREE enemies.  And there are some really close calls.  There were some pretty clever moves by at least two on them.  Evil but clever twists and turns. This is a series so not all of those enemies are caught in this book.  So you can either say, "cliffhanger" or "the adventure continues".  Either way this book does have a satisfying ending for the M.C.'s along with some sorrows for those killed or injured in the story.
