A TIME FOR LOVE…
Amber enjoys her life of chaotic freedom and has no intention of falling in line just because a sexy-as-sin vampire insists on order. While probably not one of my most favorite of the series, it was still pretty darn good. It had some hilarious moments because think about it. A vegan, pacifist Demon Destroyer? And Kane a super smart scientist warrior? Well, Kane liked to fight using his brain but he still could be a warrior when that was needed. They make for quite the "couple"although Amber is so going to turn Realm Headquarters on its ear. I did like how she was so different from the normal person you expect to read about as a mate. But she also irritated me at times with her "get on the vegan train or else" attitude. But she does grow on the people in her new family and they find ways to adapt a few things and get around her on others.
Plenty of battles and war strategy and it was interesting how her gift worked and at times didn't work. Amber didn't even know she had a "gift or special skill."Nice twist with all of that. Her grandmother had kept her in the dark about the paranormal world but it was out of love. Which made things really difficult at first when Amber and Kane first meet. He keeps telling her to knock off playing ignorant and she really has no idea what he is talking about. For one of the smartest vampires on the planet it took him quite a while to figure out she wasn't playing.
As in all of the Dark Protectors books, there will be plenty of sex scenes, just in case you didn't know. They are well written but easy enough to skim if you want and you can get back to the main stories which are really good. It's nice to know that it's not all sex with little or no plot. There really is a good plot with good, close family interactions. They have each others backs all the time, the best that they can.
There are more stories to come in the series and in this Epilogue it gives you glimpse into some more things coming. The war isn't over and the fight against the Virus isn't completed yet either. So, you can end here if you want or you can continue the adventure.
