BOOK REVIEW- MORE THAN NEIGHBORS (Harlequin Super Romance Book 1968) by Janice Kay Johnson
Temptation is so close!
To protect her son, Mark, Ciara Malloy has moved to this rural area in Washington. The new beginning is off to a rocky start, however, when Mark gets too familiar with Gabe Tennert's horses. It's obvious their next-door neighbor prefers his solitude. Even so, he shows incredible patience with Mark. And when Gabe turns that intense gaze Ciara's way…how can she resist such a good, sexy man?
But crossing the line between friends and something more is riskier than Ciara expects. As Gabe pushes for a commitment, she fears revealing the secret truths that could turn him away forever.
AMAZON 4 STARS
What a great emotional story. Ciara, Gabe and Mark made for really good and interesting main characters. Each with their own forms of heartbreak but such good people. They felt like real people with real life problems and don't forget the joys because there were some of those too. Gabe had suffered a traumatic loss but I also liked that he had weaknesses that he opened up to Mark about. I also liked the fact that the story was something that you don't read ever day, it was unique. And a lot of that uniqueness had to do with the son Mark and some of the things he had to deal with. Ciara had to deal with them too because she was his mom, and was trying to fix everything.
There were a few times early one when I thought it was going a little bit slow but that also fit in with the landscape of where Ciara and her son moved to. It was a slower paced story but that doesn't mean that there was nothing going on either.
There were a few surprises that come out into the open later in the book. And it has Ciara in a tail spin What a great emotional story. Good story with a H.E.A. at the end.
