Today we focus on another “decree” that we can meditate on in Jubilee Year 5776, the Jubilee Year of Abundance. We refer to this as the “Decree over our Bodies.” It is the third verse of Psalm 103:
“Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.”
First, let’s give a little more context surrounding this verse:
“Bless the LORD O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.
Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;
Who redeems your life from destruction;
Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.”—Psalm 103.1-4
Most of the psalm past this point is praising God for all of the blessings He has bestowed upon the people of the earth. The verse in question here, verse 3, thanks God specifically for forgiving our sins and healing our diseases.
Sin forgiveness is really a type of healing of its own. It is the healing of spiritual and emotional wounds, which often can manifest themselves physically. This passage therefore is not just thanking God for healing us from physical illnesses and wounds, but from the spiritual ones, as well.
Our bodies are one of the greatest gifts God has given us. We were created in His image. The healing of our illnesses and our emotional damage brings us back, closer to the image of God that we were designed to be. It is truly a blessing to be able to walk the earth as an image of God, but we can only do that with physical and spiritual health. Therefore, it is our responsibility to take care of our bodies and our spirits.
Here is a way you can pray over this passage this year:
Body, hear this Word: In the Name of Yeshua, it is the Lord “Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.” Body, I want you to know that the blood of Jesus redeems me. I am healed, and I say so. Body, hear this: All of my iniquities in the bloodline of my family, all the way back to the garden are cancelled today! Why? Because it is 5776, the Jubilee of abundance, and you will be healed. Body, the joy of the Lord is my strength! You will eat well, eat healthy, and prosper. This is my Jubilee year to be healed, from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet—in Yeshua’s Mighty Name—Amen!
