BOOK REVIEW- HER ONE AND ONLY

Gray Fowler, star Nfl tight end, is being pursued by a stalker, so his team hires a protection agency to keep Gray under the watch of a bodyguard at all times. When Gray meets Dru Porter, an agent assigned to him, he's indignant. How can an attractive young female half his size possibly protect him?
But Dru's a former Marine, an expert markswoman, and a black belt. She's also ferociously determined to uncover the identity of Gray's stalker. And she's just as determined to avoid any kind of romantic attachment between herself and the rugged football player with the mysterious past. But the closer they get to finding the stalker, the closer they grow to each other. As the danger rises, can Dru and Gray entrust their hearts--and their lives--to one another?   LINK 4 STARS

I liked this book, Gray and Dru and even Dru's dynamic, unique family.  That family added a lot to the story, with the challenges that many of them had already come through.  There is also the ongoing story of Bo and Meg on the side, as they are going through their own challenge.  Meg was long desiring to be pregnant.  Now that she is, it doesn't mean there are no more things to work through.
Bo is the rock that God sent into her life, he wants the babies but not at the cost of his wife.

Gray came across as a hardheaded, confident man who  was used to fighting and winning battles.  He could be cocky, expecting women to easily do what he wants.  That is so NOT going to fly with Dru.  She is one tough, highly skilled, no-nonsense kind of woman, a professional to the bone too.  Gray begins to see what buttons to push with her and he enjoys the sparks that fly when he does.  There is so much more to both of them and they slowly begin to see that about each other.  Gray trusts NO woman, his lousy childhood taught him that early.  I like that Dru had a style all her own and she isn't about to bend to anybody about that.  She was direct and carried a certain amount of authority.
There were at least 2 statements that really stood out to me:

"Why are you are living like you are unforgiven?"
"Love rescues".

The only other thing that I want to say is that while I enjoyed the book, it felt like it went on just a bit too long.   Just my opinion.

I received a copy of this book from Bethany House, in exchange for an honest review.
