A look into the past of ex-special ops legend Dane Blaise. A childhood incident shows what makes him tick.
I really liked it. Have to be honest and say at first I thought, "this is a fairly short novella, how much can be accomplished in that amount of time?" After reading it, I can say, quite a bit actually.
We meet Dane at 14 years old and he's made of some tough stuff. We also get to see that he got a lot of good training from his dad. And since I've read so many of the books in this series, I can also see where some of that training comes back later to bite him in the butt when it comes to women. That's a bit of Dane's fault too though because he didn't believe that he would ever find a good woman who had his back like his mom had his dad's. Even though his father told him so and he believed pretty much every other thing his dad taught him. But that girl/woman thing is in other stories to come....
