When the real world is emptied of all that you love, how can you keep yourself from dependence on the virtual?
Larissa lives in a world where the real and the virtual intermingle. After the supposed death of her soul mate, Andrew, Larissa is able to find solace by escaping to Nirvana, a virtual world where anything is possible – even visits with Andrew. Although Larissa knows that these meetings are not real, she cannot shake her suspicion that Andrew is indeed alive. When she begins an investigation of the Hexagon, the very institution that she has been taught to trust, Larissa uncovers much more than she ever expected. Her biggest challenge, however, remains determining what is real – and what is virtual.
Nirvana is a fast-paced page-turning young adult novel combining elements of the romance, mystery, and science fiction genres. Part of a three-part series, this book introduces readers to a heroine who refuses to give up on the man she loves, even if it means taking on an entire government to do so. As the lines between the real and virtual worlds begin to blur, Larissa and the reader realize that all is not as it seems, and the complex mystery only deepens. AMAZON I gave it 5 Stars
I loved it. Twists turns, tensions. The whole thing was pretty intense. Yes, in the beginning I wondered. I thought maybe I wasn't going to like this one as it started out slow, things were dark and depressing. But the set up of their world, I thought was well done. The teckno stuff in the story was detailed and pretty well done. So were the people in the story, good and bad. The trick was finding out which was which. Some of the evil was easy to see and not hidden at all. Others, you just didn't know who to trust, a great element to a story. Larissa and Andrew, now there is two people you really want to see win. So many times I forgot how young Larissa was, until reminded in the story. Now I'm normally not that big a fan of cliffhangers, but this story got me so involved, that I didn't deduct any stars because of it. Looks like there will be more adventure ahead. I agree with some of the other reviews I've read on Goodreads. I love the cover of the book. At first, I wondered if I was only going to be in the minority when it came to loving this book. As I skimmed through I realized I was talking about the revised version and many were talking about the first one. So what does tht mean? The final copy, what others get to read from the store is a winner in my book. I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review |
