BOOK REVIEW- TESTING THE BOSS

BOOK REVIEW- TESTING THE BOSS- Billionaire Luke Devereaux gets what he wants and what he wants right now is to bring down the shady organization threatening his family. Teaming up with the FBI is his only option--even if that option comes in the sultry Evelyn Price, the ice-princess who's all business.  Refusing to be distracted by the sexy, rich playboy, Evelyn forces herself to stay focused on the case, gearing up for the criminal takedown of her entire career. As the enemy closes in with Evelyn as its next target, it's up to Luke to keep them out of danger. The more they work to protect each other, and fight for control, the harder it is to resist their undeniable attraction. And the one thing Evelyn has learned from working with him is that Luke Devereaux gets what he wants.  AMAZON  I'm giving it 4 Stars

Yes, Evelyn Price is a tough, professional FBI agent who has an instant and continuous dislike to rich boy,  Luke  Devereaux.  And he is more than happy to return those feelings since he feels the same towards her.  She just wants to get this job done and move back to Texas ASAP.  In New York on temporary assignment, she hates the city almost as much as she dislikes Luke.  It sounds like her investigation should be fairly simple except for running into one dead end after another.  Things between Luke and Evelyn start to heat up when they are forced to spend more time together.  All as part of the investigation of course.   There are plenty of twists and turns and some unexpected betrayals in this story.   I have to admit it had me guessing all over the place.  One of the difficulties stems from Luke needing to be in control and Evelyn refusing to give up much control.  This is her assignment and he's the civilian here; and a part of her job is to protect him.  That part doesn't set well with Luke at all. There was plenty of action, when different sets of villains go after our MC's.  There is also a sex scene or two in the story. Secondary characters were well done in this story.   Luke's assistant, Cali is whip smart and plays an interesting part in the story.  She also comes up again in an excerpt from the next book, " Taming the Boss".   Its a story about Cali and Rourke Devereaux , the brother who has distanced himself from his family.

"Received an ARC in exchange for an honest review".
