BOOK REVIEW- CAPTIVE COWBOY

BOOK REVIEW- CAPTIVE COWBOY- All work and no play just like his father had done leaves Brandon Barnes, the 'Ogre of Lone Tree', on the outside looking in when it comes to those around him. A man whose trust has been broken, leaving his heart guarded.
Megan McKinney, determined to put her painful past behind her, ends up stranded in Lone Tree, Montana. Love is the last things she’s looking for, but she soon finds herself falling for the gruff, unsmiling cowboy who rescued her. Now it’s her turn to rescue Brandon – from himself. So she sets out to teach him that life is meant to be enjoyed, not just lived. And that sometimes true happiness is only a smile away.
(If you missed Book 1 in the Captured Hearts Series, check out Kidnapped Cowboy for Dalton's story. Books can be stand-alone reads) AMAZON  I gave it 3 Stars

After reading Book 1-" Kidnapped Cowboy", I wanted to read this book and find out how love captures Brandon, The Ogre of Lone Tree.   What an interesting but mean tag was attached to him.  It was a hurtful one that just seemed to follow him everywhere.  His cheating ex did it to hurt him and not many people took the time to look beyond the nickname.
This was a charming but somewhat predictable story.  Part of the charm is seeing the softening that was always in Brandon, coming to the surface when he's around Megan.  Brandon's brother and fiance Caitlin were also quite a bit of the story to of course, being family.  You know that a train wreck is coming when it comes to part of Megan's past, you just don't know how its going to show up.  Megan has been open and honest about all of her painful past, and she's getting ready to tell the last piece.   Of course, you know it isn't going to happen soon enough and that's where the train wreck comes in.  But I'm not telling the how or the what, if you want to know, you'll have to read the book.
