BOOK REVIEW- CHASING VICTORY

BOOK REVIEW- CHASING VICTORY-  Victory Winters is a world-renowned geneticist and possesses an unusual innate sense of communication, bordering on telepathic when relating to animals. She is kidnapped by Lawrence Braxton. Braxton is the madman CEO who runs Biotec, and forces Victory to pursue her research on canine DNA.  Naval officer Tristan Farraday is sent undercover to track Biotec’s experiments. These experiments involve the implantation of canine DNA into humans, thereby manipulating their genetic makeup. The goal of Biotec is to create the perfect soldier.  Murder, kidnapping, and blackmail follow as Tristan realizes Victory has been pulled into Biotec’s world against her wishes. She refuses to divulge the genetic answers Braxton demands. Victory knows Biotec wants to exploit her findings, by administering them in a destructive manner. Will Tristan rescue Victory from this madman’s grip and save her family? Can he keep her discoveries away from enemy hands?  AMAZON 5 Stars is what I'm giving it on Amazon.

Be prepared for action right out the gate.  Intense, that would be a good way to describe this story, Intense. It kept my attention through out.  Victory is a smart, beautiful (of course) woman who is multi-talented.  Some of those talents are unique and deeply hidden from others. For being a smart woman, she was confident and in the beginning of the book, she was overconfident.  That lead her right into a really dangerous situation.  I just wanted to yell at her, "for being such a smart woman, how can you  be SO DUMB?"    Later in the book, Tristan pretty much nails her about that, although he was a lot nicer about it.  He tells her that for such an intelligent woman she sure can be naive.  That's not to say that he wasn't drawn to her though. And after a time, she realizes he fascinates her too.  The romance was done well I think, I ended up liking both of them a lot.  There are plenty of twists and turns, near misses and bad guys.  It runs deeper than anyone knew at first but there are plenty of good guys as well.    Well, trained good guys.  The bond between Tristan and his brother, Wyatt was a nice touch and came in handy more than once.  As was the bond between the sisters, Payton and Willow, and Victory, which was more of a family bond in nature.   This book has a HEA of sorts with the door wide open for more adventures.
I received a free copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
