The author had me at the introduction.  What an honest, open sharing she did when she explained just how difficult it can be to write a book like this.  Just from the spiritual aspect alone. I knew this was going to be a good book, showing such truth just by how real she was.  Willing to reveal the pain, the ugly to help others.  I guess the word I am looking for here is, Transparent.
I love how she said there were things that were true whether you knew them or not.  So satan can't do a thing about their reality.  Although he can try to keep us confused over the truths so that we can't take advantage of them.
One of my favorite insights that the author shared was that we really don't know what we need or what to ask for.   This leads to something that she said that resonated with me, since I have experienced it.  "Even when you don't know exactly what you need, trust that  the Spirit does, and when you receive more of Him, you receive the discernment to know what to request."  I've had that happen so often, I would "think" to ask for something I would have never thought to before.
I have to say that I have read a fair amount of books about spiritual warfare (all were pretty good) but this one was different from them, in a good way.

At the end of each chapter is some short,  Questions to Consider.  They were pretty good ones too.
When I first chose this book I thought, "okay, its probably a good basic starter approach to spiritual warfare."  Yes, it was but hang on, it was also much more.  Its an Interactive, action book as well but not in a heavy handed way.  Even the titles to each chapter were fresh and interesting, she covered many different parts of life.

I received a copy of this book via Bethany House in exchange for an honest review.
