BOOK REVIEW- THE COWBOY IS A DADDY

First baby of the New Year…delivered by a cowboy!
When Wyoming cowboy Brice DeWitt placed an ad for a housekeeper-cook at his Flying D Ranch, he expected a sturdy, mature woman—not a petite, pregnant applicant who was about to deliver on his doorstep.
Madison Carlyle needed his protection—and his name. But an isolated Wyoming ranch in the middle of winter was no place for a new mother and child. If he let them stay, he risked his heart. But if he sent them away, would he miss his best chance at having the one thing he’d always wanted? A family?  AMAZON 4.5 Stars

I really liked and enjoyed this book.  Great main characters with a really good cast of secondary people as well.  The author drew me into caring about both Madison and Brice pretty quickly.   Brice was such a good man with such a tender heart.  So afraid to get too involved because women had done nothing but let him down.  Woman after woman had broken his heart, deserting him because living on the ranch was just too hard for them.  It started as early as his own mom, who bailed on the family.  But no matter how hard he tried to keep his feelings from getting to connected to Madison and the baby, it just wasn't working all that well. He just though, here we go again, another woman who is just temporary.  Madison was one tiny fireball when it came to protecting and loving her baby.  She was fierce when it came to wanting to provide the love and nurturing that she never got.   And she has a lot of love to give, even with all the slaps of rejection that she has felt over the years.  Brice saw not only the strong, brave woman but also she caused him to feel the need to protect her too.  He also saw her vulnerability.  .
I really liked the descriptive way that the author wrote.  Like when Brice saw Madison and thought that she looked no bigger than a minute.  Paints a pretty good picture doesn't it?
The whole UPS deliveries part of the story made for some humorous times. The cowboys on the ranch made me smile as they fell helplessly under the baby's spell.  I smiled often while reading this story.    I also felt some of the sadness and you could understand the loneliness of both MC's even though they had different life experiences.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
