Talk about action happening right away. We get drawn into Casey running right off the bat. Right from the start I found it strange that the police seemed to be awfully quick to condemn Casey as the killer. It almost looked to me that they didn't look any further than Casey as the guilty party. Her father was a cop before he died and she's watched her share of CSI type TV shows. Add to that the fact that Casey was just naturally smart. All of that helped a lot as she ran and also was trying to get to the truth about who killed her friend Brent. Dylan Roberts had problems of his own but he was also bound and determined to get to the bottom of his friend, Brent's death. He's a skilled investigator and things just aren't fitting together. Even as he searches for Casey, he also continues to search for the truth. Both of them are people of honor and both have suffered many losses.
I liked the ending because some of the evil was overcome, there is a but here though. Casey's story isn't over yet but I would like to read the next one hoping it all gets tied up in a neat little bow.
I did also like the threads of faith in God that was included in the story. Its not enough to make nonbelievers nervous, at least I don't think so. But it was done skillfully and without overtaking a really good story.
