BOOK REVIEW- SAILOR'S WARNING

BOOK REVIEW- SAILOR'S WARNING-THEY WANT HER SILENCE. HE WANTS HER SURRENDER.  After Meri Darrow is suddenly fired from her dream job and leveled by a mystery illness, she retreats to her family's beach cottage. Neighbor Rob McLain knows brilliant but naïve Meri is up against powerful biotech interests that could crush them both. But that's not why this intense attraction scares the hell out of him.   Meri has Rob pegged as an ambitious charmer. He's more interested in profit than innovation, more about appearance than substance. Rob wants the privileged life she rejected long ago, right down to the showy villa above Laguna Beach. Though tempting, he's overbearing and definitely not her type.  Rob is determined to watch over Meri, even risking his career. Now she realizes her attempts to do the right thing have only brought fear and death, putting Rob and his little boy in danger. The best thing she can do for them is walk away. AMAZON  (I'm givng it a 3 STAR Rating on Amazon)

This story was slow starting and I often found that it seemed to keep that slower pace through out.  I kept waiting for more to happen.  There was a friendship building between Rob, Meri and Luke during that time.  I have to admit that for the most part I liked Rob but there were quite a few times that I didn't .  Those were probably the times he acted selfishly, like a steam roller  Both of the Main Characters are interesting, as well as interesting  in the challenges that they face.  Rob's son Luke of course is charming and mischievous.  He also really runs Rob through the gauntlet when it comes to getting into trouble.  Like people said, Luke is faster than greased lightning; he's a toddler so of course that's to be expected. Rob's mother Betty Jo, was a nice addition.
It seemed that the action started picking up at around the 80% part of the book.  Some of the mysteries start to be exposed and the villains a little bit more in the open.   There is a HEA ending, with a small twist or two at the end when it comes to changes in Rob's life.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
