BOOK REVIEW- THE RELUCTANT DUCHESS

BOOK REVIEW- THE  RELUCTANT DUCHESS-Lady Sara Emerson was jolted out of her dull provincial life by her cousin's murder. Now that the killer seems to be targeting her, Sara seeks help from the man who was once her cousin's fiancé, Gabriel Ferguson, Duke of Rossmoyne. With his towering frame and fiery personality, Ross cuts an intimidating figure. Living under his protection, however, has its own hazards—like the sudden urge Sara feels to take their relationship in new, exquisitely inappropriate directions.
Dazzled by the social graces of his betrothed, Ross never noticed her shy, blushing cousin. Looking at Sara now, though, he's drawn to her lovely eyes and calm disposition. Funny how a year away from the hustle and bustle of the ton changes a man. But Ross has no intention of allowing a woman to interfere with his plan to return overseas. He will simply capture the murderer and set sail once again. The problem is, with her beguiling lips and heavenly touch, Sara makes him never want to leave home—or his bed—again.    AMAZON  4 STARS

Lady Sara was terrified to just show up out of the blue at the house of the Duke of Rossmoyne.  She would much prefer disappearing into the shadows but she's more afraid of the threatening letters that she has been receiving.  And when the rough, pirate like looking hulk of a man slams into the sitting room, piercing her with an intimidating look.  She wishes she was anywhere else.    But a promise is a promise, and she intends to collect.  Duke  of Rossmoyne (Ross) promised after her cousin's death, if the family ever needed anything, he would help.    Time to pay up.  Ross had never really "seen" Sara before when he was engaged to her cousin Meredith.   Meredith was beautiful, outgoing and bigger than life in her personality.  A beautiful Butterfly, who always wanted to be the center of attention.  Sara was quiet, shy and hugged the walls when she was in social events.  She never knew what to say to people when it came to making small talk.   But when she had to go to events, she watched people and she became quite good at figuring people out.  Ross never met anybody before her that told him "no" and refused to bend to his will.  The more time he spent with her, he began to see a quiet beauty with great intelligence.  Ross and Sara have quite the  unusual conversations and adventures together.  I liked them both.  Also of interest is his friend, Montgomery.  Montgomery became a friend after his investigation of Meredith's death, cleared Ross.  There were several other interesting people as well.  Be prepared for a few twists and turns because the "letters" get more menacing as time goes on.  Ross is doing everything he can to keep Sara safe, all the while trying to fight his feelings for her.  Their "non-courtship" gets pretty interesting.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
