When I left Woodbrook with a rich city slicker years ago, I never imagined I’d be back, broke and alone, sitting in a cop cruiser with Hudson Wiley – now our hometown’s Sheriff and resident beefcake.
He's everywhere, with those piercing eyes and that cocky grin, And I can't shake the memories of what we used to be. My high school sweetheart stirs up old desires I thought I’d buried. The storms brewing in Oklahoma can’t compare to the storms inside Hudson and me.
I broke his heart back then and he won’t let me forget it. He may think I’m a Princess, but he’s wrong. And who knows what he’ll do when he finds out I’m lying.
Maybe being in handcuffs wouldn’t be so bad with him…
4 Stars-my review notes: Misunderstandings
Matty sure made a huge mistake. She still is paying for that one ! And seeing the grownup version of Hudson brings even more pain to Matty. And he sure hasn't forgotten or forgiven her betrayal. That leads to some tense times between them. This is a short but good and sweet romance with a happy ending. I liked Matty and Hudson together.
One person that I really liked was her boss at the diner, Paisley, She's tough when she needs to be but also kind and supportive to Matty as well. I would like to read her story in the book, "Cinderella and the Oil Man." I got a quick look at it in this book and I liked it what I read.
