I liked the homey part about the old fashioned but good traditions of welcoming people to their community. Emma and her pies and prayer group ! Hazel joins her and I liked that they played a hymn and had a regular prayer list . Hazel was a very good friend with wise advice. Oh and Emma's curiosity and care has been stirred because of the new neighbor at the Millers old house. I loved the whole idea of the lantern that glows on her porch every night. I enjoyed the fact that I got to hear both Emma and Jacob's points of view along with some scripture too ! Jacob had depth as well. The ending made me very happy !
