BOOK REVIEW- Space Junk : Houston, We Have a Hottie by Sara L. Hudson

Book Details

NASA engineer Dr. Jackie Darling Lee is a genius about many things...
the male species is not one of them, despite the many cowboy romances she reads.

Then a little friendly blackmail from a co-worker has Jackie walking into a Texas saloon ready to initiate Operation Social Life.
After making friends with her waitress and helping a drunk country beauty get home safely, she thinks she’s off to a good start.

Flynn West left his family’s rich ranching life behind after discovering his girlfriend’s gold digging ways.
Now he specializes in vintage muscle car restorations in his own shop in Houston. He’s taken women off his radar, until a wild-haired blonde drags his drunk little sister through his front door.
The moment he sees those thick, black-framed glasses on that slender nose, Flynn’s captivated.

Ignitions ignite, and not just from Flynn’s skills at hot-wiring cars.

But in the midst of the International Space Station being threatened and old flames reappearing, can Jackie and Flynn let go of old hang-ups long enough to reach the end of their Happily Ever After countdown?

What a fun romp this story was.  Funny and quirky with most of that endearing quirkiness coming from Jackie.  Jackie is a genius with a fount of information always ready to explode out.  She's not only a genius but she is also a shy, giving woman who has missed out on so much growing up.   With so much head knowledge constantly churning in her mind, she is also socially inept.  She misses cues that everyone else would pick up on.  She made me smile so many times.  And one of her favorite saying that pops out of her mouth at time
(Holy Mercury!  ) also makes others smile too.

Adding to the fun is mouthy Jules, an astronaut currently in space.  She has always been Team Jackie even though they are so wildly different.

Flynn is not someone that you would automatically think would be a great match with Jackie.  How wrong you would be.  He is strong, honorable, successful and so tender with Jackie so often.  The romance between the main characters was enjoyable. So was some of the funny moments between them too.  But hey, he's not perfect, he does have his issues.  One of them being gold diggers.  Flynn and Jackie because of it.
I liked the friends that Jackie picked up along the way.  That would be Trish and Rose who is Flynn's sister.  Rose is one wild child with fierce sense of loyalty.  I would love to read both of their stories also.  Oh, and not to be forgotten Jules romance story.
The only down side for me was when the science while done was also a bit deeper than I would have liked at times.  Other than that, this is definitely a series I would like to continue to read.
