BOOK REVIEW- Her Royal Bodyguard by Joyce Sullivan

"You are a princess, betrothed to Prince Laurent of Ducharme. My duty is to train you in royal protocol. And to keep you alive."

Learning of her secret birthright shocked Rory Kenilworth, but with "accidents" befalling her and deadly bullets flying, she had no time for regrets. She had to claim her heritage—and somehow resist the fierce emotion blazing in the eyes of her tutor and self-appointed bodyguard, compelling and mysterious royal secretary Sebastian Guimond.

The unpolished and dangerously charming princess left Prince Laurent, alias Sebastian, speechless. His plan to safeguard Rory by going undercover as his own secretary had backfired—because stopping the relentess killer depended on hardening his own heart against the woman he was honor bound to marry, but forbidden to love….AMAZON  3.5 STARS

Good main characters, and secondary people.  The story was also filled with plenty of danger, action and people with their own motives. There were plenty of plots in the works.
I wasn't even sure what kind of person Rory's half-brother was at first.  He is someone who can be trusted or does he have other motives too?  That question is answered fairly early as the story goes on.
I liked that Rory was a free-spirit, independent, book wielding, sometimes klutzy woman.   It just made her all the more charming.  Her mother had kept secrets from her but she had also raised her to think for herself.  This is something that will cause a headache or two for Sebastien and her brother, Prince Olivier.
Sebastian has a commitment phobia.  No, the more accurate wording would be "Love Phobia"
He just saw too many things that pointed to love matches destroying royal marriages.  But then again, he really didn't have all the facts now did he?
I liked that there were quite a few people who fell under my suspicion as I read this book.  Who could  be the one behind these murder attempts.  I mean the reasons that we could see were many.  And there were several people who were really unpleasant towards Rory, in a semi-subtle way.
Some of the story was fairly predictable while other parts weren't.  It did keep my attention until the end though.
