BOOK REVIEW- AGAINST ALL ODDS

Her life is in danger--and so is his heart.
For FBI Hostage Rescue Team member Evan Cooper and his partner, dignitary protection duty should have been a piece of cake. Unfortunately, beautiful but determined Monica Callahan isn't making it easy. Estranged from her diplomat father--who is involved in a sensitive hostage situation in the Middle East--she refuses to be intimidated by a related terrorist threat back in the States. That is, until a chilling warning convinces her that the danger is very real--and escalating.
As Coop and his partner do their best to keep her safe, the threat against Monica is rising. And with every second that ticks by, Coop knows that the odds of saving the only woman who has ever breached the walls around his heart are dropping. After all, terrorists aren't known for their patience--or their mercy. AMAZON I gave it 4.5 STARS

What a great story.  It's intense with great action and great characters.  There are plenty of twists, turns and surprises and its not just on one site.  There are several locations where plots are in motion, its not confusing but it is engaging.  As are Evan Cooper (Coop) and his co-worker Mark Sanders on the Hostage Rescue Team (HRT).  They have trusted each other with their lives many times and that comes through pretty clearly in the story too.
Monica made for a great characters as well. She was skilled on many levels, she was direct, she had a way with words and was likable.  She had her own personal struggles too.  Although she was a woman of faith, she struggled with forgiveness especially towards her father.  Her father who is a high level  diplomat, who years ago chose career over family.    She's refused to talk to him since, which makes it even more difficult as her life is threatened.   Part of that threat is to put pressure on her father and strike at his heart as he tries to find a way to save the 3 hostages that only have days to live.
I also liked the subtle threads of faith in God that is also a part of the story.  Some reviewers have said that Christian stories often go heavy on the Christian part and the story suffers because of that.  That does NOT happen here.   This book was solid all the way through, the action keeps up and the attraction between Monica and Coop develops well too.    The attraction and connection was believable even in the short but intense period of time that they were together.   I liked that Coop was even surprised at the speed and depth of how quickly she got under his guard.
All in all, a really good book.
