BOOK REVIEW- A Notorious Ruin

Book 2 in the on-going series about the  beautiful Sinclair Sisters.
Widowed Lucy Sinclair Wilcott is holding on with everything within her, to just survive.  She has at least two goals.

One is to be invisible, which is hard to do when someone is as beautiful as she is, and has so much gossip about her.
Two, she wants to save enough money to retire to a quiet cottage.

Everyone views her marriage  as a shameful thing, for she married so far below her station.  But no one else knows the full story,
Handsome, reserved, Lord Thrale has judged her and thinks he knows her: she's just a empty headed, cold, beautiful flirt.

I loved this historical romance, I've read a fair amount of them and not all of them come up to snuff, but this one did.  What did I like about it?  The depth of the characters, the people themselves, the author's ability to make you care about Lucy and make you begin to pull for her and a HEA.  Lord Thrale is dazzled by her beauty, almost against his will. Then he begins to realize she is also a puzzle, one that he wants more and more to unravel.  He sees that she is really 2 people.  The cold one she presents to society and one that she hides; the real her.  It was like peeling an onion, sorry if that doesn't sound romantic, but it kept me inolved in the story.
As I also began to read about the boxing portions of the story, I was concerned it would be uninteresting.  Wrong.
I feel that as a reader concerned about other readers, I must point out that if you don't want to read a book with sex in it..this COULD make you uncomfortable when they show up.  It wasn't until quite far into the story.  I'm still giving it a 5 Star Rating, just not recommending to real young readers.

“I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review”
