eBook Review: Secrets

Tough as nails woman, Rese Barett just encountered a man  who just might be able to get around her tightly built walls.  Maybe. She has personal walls that she built over the years to protect herself and she trust no one except a long time friend, Star.   She's bought and is restoring an old villa in Sonoma, with the idea of turning it into a bed and breakfast.   She's skilled in the area of carpentry and everything required to do the physical magic of the restoration but the bed and breakfast is totally out of her comfort zone.  How come Lance Michelli shows up right on time to help with skills she didn't know she needed?  She doesn't want him there and she doesn't want  his help but that's okay Lance  is on his own mission about Secrets and he'll do whatever he needs to do to give his beloved grandmother the answers she needs.

It just seemed like it took forever to get the story moving. The places and people and even the different cultures were rich but unfolded at such a slow rate that I almost gave up on the book multiple times. I guess for the most part I liked it but have mixed feelings about the book. If you like a book with a slower pace, a slower unfolding of the story; you'll probably enjoy this book. Lots of Secrets, just like the title says.
