Ebook Review: Only Human
Captain Nova Whiteside, is a human warrior who has never lived on earth; her whole life being devoted to the military. She's young but has moved quickly through the ranks and now is given a special assignment to help rid the Commonwealth Union of Planets of a particularly nasty growing group of rebel "pirates". On this assignment her commander is Tychon, a straight-laced Vanguard commander (who is an alien; not human) . Tychon seems to have very little use for humans; which makes things even more interesting since these two are the only ones on this particular space plane. Along the way they discover there is a dangerous living weapon; that greedy, power hungry people are working to unleash. The power of this weapon is beyond anything ever imagined, anywhere.
I loved this story. I am a fan of science fiction and totally devoured this story. Although a fan of sci-fi I was relieved that it wasn't one of super-gore; those I don't like. Yes, there was romance, intrigue and quite a few twists. I liked the characters, even some of what most people might consider minor ones. The details of the different planets, cultures and languages were quite in depth. The end while good; was a little disappointing only because it only "kind of" ended. But I also realize it opens the door to more of the story, somewhere down the line, if the author chooses.
