BOOK REVIEW- The SEAL's Accidental Family (The SEAL & Veteran Series, Book 2) by Leslie North

All her life, Rachel Winchester has fought against the idea that she was nothing but white trash destined for Loserville. Now, it seems all that fighting was for nothing. Sure, she’s running a successful B&B and, yes, she finally had her way with a man she’s crushed on for forever—Harris McCallister, the guy she’s flirted with for years; the guy she’s thought about and pined for. She’s finally feeling good about the future when—bam—she gets pregnant. True or not, in her world, nothing says white trash more than an unmarried pregnant woman. Worse, her “loving” mother is threatening her over the B&B and the property it sits on, all because of a silly legend about a pirate’s buried treasure.

Harris doesn’t know what it is about Rachel, but he’s always been drawn to her. With her brightly dyed hair and sexy-as-hell tattooed body, she’s impossible to ignore—and drives him crazy in all the best ways. Finding out she’s carrying his baby has him thinking things he’s never thought before. Thoughts he brutally pushes away. Returning to active duty as a Marine Raider is what he wants, not settling down and playing house. He’ll stick around just long enough to make sure Rachel and the baby-to-be are safe from increasingly disturbing attacks they both believe has to do with an old legend about a pirate’s buried treasure. The longer he stays, though, the tougher returning to duty is becoming. But when the time comes to head back to the Marines, he has to make the toughest decision of his life—duty to his country, or life with the woman he loves.  AMAZON 5 STARS

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved this story.  The main characters were each so well drawn with their personalities and personal challenges.  It didn't take me long to really like them and want to see them win.  Together.  I liked that this book not only had the great main characters but there was plenty of emotions, romance, mysteries and some dangerous actions going on. I think this book is now going onto one of my favorites by this author.
Rachel has had to be tough growing up the way she has but she still has a huge, caring heart. The way she grew up just added to her insecurities and misunderstandings between the M.C.'s.  But it also added to some hot make-up sex.
Like Harris points out to her, Rachel shows a lot of love and caring in the way she treats people around her.  Especially the people who come to her B&B.   Now, her "loving" mother was quite the disaster.  She just keeps adding to Rachel's problems.  And her mother isn't all that smart when it comes to picking boyfriends.  You'll have to read the book to find out if she has any redeeming qualities at all though.

SEAL’s Accidental Family (SEAL & Veteran Series Book 2) by [North, Leslie]
It's shown over and over what a great guy Harris is, even though he isn't always understood by Rachel.  She was used to having to do everything herself without any help.  She failed to recognize that the love language that Harris had was..acts of service.  Of course, working on stuff was about the only time he and his dad had together too.  I really appreciated the unusual quirk/skill that Harris had.  It was like the land spoke to him.  It was explained that it was like the land called to him.  It was something that aided him and his team in the military and does so again at home.
I LOVED how creative Rachel was when she does the gender reveal to Harris.  It was unique, charming and fun.

There is a good H.E.A. for the couple in the Epilogue and and leads into one of Harris's brothers needing his help. A bit of that adventure was seen in an excerpt of, "SEAL'S Home-coming."  Sounds interesting and it looks like its out now.
