BOOK REVIEW- don't tempt me -A Novel (Hqn) by Lori Foster

Love comes along when it's least wanted

Jason Guthrie has no time for entanglements—between helping out his widowed brother and teenage nephew and getting his hometown back on its feet, his days are spoken for. But his nights are another story… And when his lovely new neighbor, Honor Brown, reluctantly accepts his help in remodeling her house, Jason finds himself wishing his handyman skills could knock down the defenses she keeps building around herself.

Martial arts teacher Sullivan Dean knows real danger when he sees it—even when it takes the form of the gorgeous blonde helping her friend move in across the street. After putting his wayward past behind him to focus on teaching control to troubled kids, Sullivan has learned to avoid party girls like Lexie Perkins. But Sullivan can't seem to keep his hands off the real woman behind that flirty charm—or keep his heart from landing at her feet…AMAZON  4 STARS

I liked this story and it's unusual elements.  Honor being the first and foremost unusual one.  The story of her life starts to unfold slowly but I didn't hate that.  Sometimes in other stories I might not like that so much.  But in this one I felt like I was following breadcrumbs that the author was leading me with.  And it was done in a a way that made me want to know where those breadcrumbs led to.
The balancing act relationship between Honor and Lexi was interesting and sweet.  What a great friend Lexi has been.  Even though like she said, she's had to kind of bulldoze her way into a friendship with Honor.
Jason is intensely drawn to Honor from the very first meeting.  His gaze was so intensely attached to her that it made her kind of uncomfortable at first.  And why not? Most of her life she's liked NOT being the center of much attention.  Jason was a great guy though and found himself not only attracted to honor but also feeling protective too. He admired her independence but also saw her vulnerabilities too.
Jason comes with great family (brother Hogan & nephew Colt in particular) and friends.  Honor not so much of either.  Lexi is the only friend she has let in and they have known each other a long time. Honor's family? Jeez, you'll have to read it to get how nasty they can be.
The Lexi and Sullivan romance as a more secondary part of the story but they did bring up the heat level.   All Sullivan saw at first was the party girl image that Lexi projected.  But she has that other part of a really caring person that he finally begins to really see.
This book had a great family community feel to it although of course there will be sex in more than one couple's story.
The story had a good ending and a good beginning for a new life for both couples.  I enjoyed that too.
